BBC overhauls, closes 3 major news sites
The Independent reported that the BBC has just announced the closure of three popular websites, including Newsbeat, BBC Food, and News Magazine, as part of the corporation's £15 million ($21.7 million) cost-cutting plan.

BBC Director of News and Current Affairs James Harding said that in the future, the media corporation will focus more on core tasks.
Mr James said that when reviewing, the BBC set out to become a place where trusted news, where children could learn while playing, high-quality entertainment, fast sports news, live sports events; arts, culture, history and science news; historical moments or national events.
He said that the BBC stopped providing culinary and tourism services because there are many providers of these services on the market that are much better.
