The Steering Committee 138/CP surveys the work of transforming areas with complex security and order issues.
(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of August 6th, in Vinh City, a working group from the Government's National Steering Committee for Crime Prevention and Control (Steering Committee 138), led by Colonel Nguyen Duc Hung - Deputy Director of the Legal Department (Ministry of National Defense), and a member of Steering Committee 138/CP, held a meeting with the Nghe An Steering Committee 138/CP.
Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 138/CP, along with representatives from the Provincial People's Committee Office, and leaders of relevant departments, agencies, and organizations, worked with the delegation.

In implementing Directive 48-CT/TW dated October 22, 2010, of the Politburo on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over crime prevention and control in the new situation," and following the guidance of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Head of the 138/CP Steering Committee; Nghe An province has selected six communes and wards, including Dien Yen (Dien Chau district), Dong Hop (Quy Hop district), Luu Kien (Tuong Duong district), Do Luong town (Do Luong district), Nghi Phu commune and Hung Dung ward (Vinh City), as pilot areas.
After one year of implementation, the Steering Committee has focused on decisively directing and implementing comprehensive solutions to prevent and combat crime throughout the province, achieving many positive results. The activities of various types of crime and social vices in the province have been curbed. In particular, in key communes and wards, the number of criminal offenses decreased compared to the previous year. Notable examples include Luu Kien commune (Tuong Duong district) with a 40% reduction; Dong Hop commune (Quy Hop district) with a 33% reduction; and Dien Yen commune (Dien Chau district) with a 23% reduction. Most notably, the entire political system has truly become involved; and the awareness of crime prevention and combating social vices among the people has significantly improved.
At the meeting, representatives from various departments and agencies, and members of the Provincial Steering Committee 138/CP frankly acknowledged and assessed the achievements, drew lessons learned, and identified difficulties and obstacles encountered during implementation. They also proposed practical solutions to contribute to a significant transformation of areas with complex security and order issues in the locality in the coming period.
Concluding the working session, the Head of the survey team, on behalf of the working group, acknowledged and highly appreciated the attention and guidance of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee in implementing the Government's National Target Program on Crime Prevention and Control. The team also received and recorded the suggestions and recommendations from the grassroots level, as well as the shortcomings in the implementation process, in order to propose them to the Government's Steering Committee 138/CP for more thorough and practical guidance in the future.
Earlier that morning, the working group conducted a survey and held a meeting with the Steering Committee 138/CP of Hung Dung ward, Vinh city.
