Steering Committee 138/CP surveys the work of transforming complex areas in terms of security and order

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of August 6, in Vinh City, the working delegation of the Steering Committee for the National Target Program on Crime Prevention of the Government (Steering Committee 138) led by Colonel Nguyen Duc Hung - Deputy Director of the Legal Department (Ministry of National Defense), member of Steering Committee 138/CP worked with Steering Committee 138/CP Nghe An.

Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 138/CP, along with representatives of the Provincial People's Committee Office, leaders of relevant departments, branches and organizations worked with the delegation.

Working scene

Implementing Directive 48-CT/TW dated October 22, 2010 of the Politburo on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in crime prevention and control in the new situation", the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Head of Steering Committee 138/CP; Nghe An has selected 6 communes and wards including Dien Yen (Dien Chau), Dong Hop (Quy Hop), Luu Kien (Tuong Duong), Do Luong town (Do Luong), Nghi Phu commune and Hung Dung ward (Vinh City) as a pilot.

After 1 year of implementation, the Steering Committee has focused on directing drastically and synchronously implementing crime prevention solutions in the whole province and achieved many positive results. The activities of all types of crimes and social evils in the province have been controlled. In particular, in key communes and wards, the number of criminal cases has decreased compared to 1 year ago. Typically, Luu Kien commune (Tuong Duong) has decreased by 40%; Dong Hop (Quy Hop) has decreased by 33%; Dien Yen (Dien Chau) has decreased by 23%... The most prominent feature is that the entire political system has really taken part; people's awareness of crime prevention and social evils has clearly changed.

At the meeting, representatives of departments, branches, and members of the Provincial Steering Committee 138/CP frankly acknowledged and evaluated the achieved results, drew lessons as well as difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process; at the same time, recommended and proposed a number of practical issues to contribute to creating a clear change in the work of transforming complicated areas of local security and order in the coming time.

Concluding the working session, the Head of the survey delegation, on behalf of the working delegation, spoke to acknowledge and highly appreciate the attention and leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee for the implementation of the Government's National Target Program on Crime Prevention. The delegation also received and acknowledged the opinions and recommendations of the grassroots and the shortcomings in the implementation process to propose to the Government's Steering Committee 138/CP for more in-depth and practical instructions.
