6 year old child murdered by stepmother, body dumped in sugarcane field

Tuyen Quang Province Police said they are urgently investigating a particularly serious murder case that occurred in Hong Quang Commune (Lam Binh District). The victim was a 6-year-old boy, and the main suspect is the boy’s stepmother.

Previously, on the evening of November 23, Mr. Ban Van Bao (born in 1987, residing in Hong Quang commune, Lam Binh district, Tuyen Quang province) did not see his son Ban Van Th. (6 years old) at home, so he asked relatives and neighbors to help him search but could not find him.

Lam Binh District Police then got involved and invited Bao and his second wife, La Thi Thuc (born in 1989, from Trung Ha Commune, Chiem Hoa, Tuyen Quang) to the headquarters for questioning. During the investigation, La Thi Thuc confessed to killing the child and dumping the body in the sugarcane field behind the house. Lam Binh District Police took Thuc home and asked the suspect to show where she hid the boy's body.

According to Mr. Phu Duc Lam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hong Quang commune, La Thi Thuc lived with Mr. Bao for 1 year before registering their marriage. She had just given birth to a child over 1 month ago and had just come from her mother's hometown to live with her husband for 2 days when the heartbreaking incident happened.
