7 year old boy turns into an old man singing Xam, giving Xuan Bac goosebumps

The comedian commented that many current Xam singers are not as good as Tu Thanh when she transformed into Ha Thi Cau.

Episode one of the show Familiar Faces Kids aired on the evening of August 18. 7-year-old Tu Thanh transformed into the late artist Ha Thi Cau. The young contestant was made up to look older. While singing, she acted like she was chewing betel, and her hands made gestures like she was playing the erhu. With lyrics about the upbringing and birth of her parents, Tu Thanh emphasized clearly, conveying emotions through each word: "Parents are weak and weak/ Pay back with fake rice and milk to avoid bothering parents/ Raise children to be healthy with flowers/ In case of old age, rely on children...".

Meritorious Artist Xuan Bac kept exclaiming while watching the performance. He said he "lost control" of the girl's singing style and pronunciation. The comedian said that many Xam artists in Hanoi today cannot sing like Tu Thanh. The judges highly appreciated Tu Thanh's ability to memorize the lyrics and said that he had learned the song 25 times and still could not memorize it.

Comedian Hoai Linh praised the little girl for carefully studying the pronunciation of the late artist Ha Thi Cau. "The performance was beyond wonderful," he said. Singer Hien Thuc went on stage and hugged the young contestant to express her excitement.Tu Thanh surpassed 5 contestants to win the weekly first prize worth 100 million VND.

Tu Thanh was known through many programs such as Little Hero, Little Talent... In 2016, she was recognized by the Vietnam Record Association as the youngest folk music singer. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue - Tu Thanh's mother - said that she practiced singing through videos on the internet and loved the Xam and Xoan singing performances of the late artist Ha Thi Cau.
