10-year-old genius girl has higher IQ than Einstein

A British girl passed an intelligence test with a score of 162, two points higher than genius physicist Albert Einstein.

Manchester Evening News reported yesterday that Nishi Uggalle is the youngest girl in the UK to have a score of 162, the highest IQ a human can achieve. Nishi's IQ was assessed through a test supervised by the Mensa organization,organization for people with high IQ.

The Mensa Supervised IQ Test is only available to children aged 10 and a half and consists of two separate 2.5-hour assessments. One assesses mainly verbal reasoning skills and the other includes a variety of graphs and images to test geometric and spatial thinking.

Nishi, from Audenshaw in Tameside, achieved a top score of 162 on the first part of the assessment called Cattell III B and 142 on the second part of the assessment called Culture Fare Scale, placing her in the top 1% of IQ scores in the UK.

Nishi's IQ is two points higher than that of the famous physicist Albert Einstein. She is studying at Withington Girls' School and will attend Altrincham Girls' School in September this year.

Nishi lives with her parents Neelanga and Shiromi. The family moved from Sri Lanka to Manchester in 2001.

"We knew for a long time that she was talented. She started reading and writing very early and was good at maths. We let her do things that were both interesting and challenging. As parents, we didn't want her talent to go to waste, but there had to be a balance with childhood. She was just a normal 10-year-old. She loved reading, cycling, walking and we were very proud of her," said Nishi's father, Neelanga.

Nishi said he took the test last month. "The test wasn't easy, but it wasn't too difficult either. I had enough time to revise in the first part. I missed one or two questions in the second part. I told my classmates about Mensa and they were very proud. I want to be a scientist in the future," Nishi said.
