While most babies start teething at 6 months, in the case of British baby girl Isla-Rose, it was the complete opposite. When she was born less than 2 weeks ago, Isla-Rose surprised her family by having a complete set of lower incisors.
However, because the tooth was not firmly attached to the gums and was showing signs of loosening, her mother, Jasmin, decided to take her to the doctor to have the tooth treated.from Plymouth, Devon, said she never thought she would have to take her baby daughter to the dentist so soon.
"She needed to have that tooth pulled out because it was loose. She was braver than me, she didn't really cry at all,"The Sunquoted Jasmin shared.
Twelve-day-old Isla-Rose is one of the youngest patients at The Seven Trees Dental Centre, where the dentist used numbing cream around the gums near the tooth before removing it because Isla-Rose was too young to be given an anesthetic injection.

After the tooth was successfully extracted, the dentist gave her a sticker for her bravery. Meanwhile, Jasmin, who did not want to see her daughter having to have her tooth extracted, left the procedure room with tears in her eyes.
"I had to go out because I couldn't bear to see my little princess in pain. She looks so strange now without teeth," Jasmin said.
According to the British Dental Association, one in 2,000 babies are born with teeth in their mouth.
