11 year old boy drowned while bathing at the pumping station in Quynh Luu

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of September 8, Mr. Nguyen Sy Luc - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Thach Commune (Quynh Luu) said that a 6th grade student in the area unfortunately drowned while bathing at the irrigation pumping station.

The victim was Vu Trong Dat, 11 years old, a 6th grade student at Quynh Thach Secondary School. Dat is the son of Vu Trong Duong (residing in Hamlet 3, Quynh Thach Commune).

At around 4:30 p.m., people returning from the fields passing by the pumping station (in hamlet 10, Quynh Thach commune) discovered a baby boy floating on the water. When they pulled him ashore, the boy was dead.

The initial cause was determined to be that Dat went swimming in the lake of the irrigation pumping station and unfortunately drowned. The family is currently organizing a funeral for Dat.
