6 year old boy almost died after being bitten by an octopus
Recently, Dong Hai District General Hospital, Bac Lieu Province, saved the life of a baby boy who was bitten by an octopus (also known as a squid).
According to Ms. Tang Thi Thuy, living in Dong Giac hamlet, Tan Thuan commune, Dam Doi district, Ca Mau province, she and her son, Tran Van Bac, 6 years old, went to visit the anchorage near the mouth of the Ganh Hao river; while pouring the anchorage, Bac saw a squid crawling on the boat and grabbed it, immediately after that he screamed because he was bitten by the squid, seeing that, his mother stepped forward to pull the squid out and stop the bleeding for him.
Immediately after that, the child fell down and had convulsions, his eyes rolled back, he vomited and his whole body turned purple. Ms. Thuy quickly took her child to Dong Ha District General Hospital, Bac Lieu Province for emergency treatment.

Immediately upon arrival at the hospital, Bac was in a coma and had no pulse, so the hospital doctors and nurses performed an automatic heart pump, administered oxygen, administered intravenous fluids, and injected anti-shock medication; after a few minutes, Bac's heart started beating again, and by the afternoon of the same day, he had gradually recovered.
According to doctors at Dong Hai District General Hospital: through diagnosis, Bac was bitten by an octopus causing an allergic reaction leading to anaphylactic shock, but this case is very serious, if the treatment was delayed for about 5 minutes, the child could have died. After emergency treatment, the patient was out of danger.
Through this case, people need to be vigilant against animal bites because each person's constitution is different, so the level of allergy is also different. At the same time, parents should not let children play with strange objects, avoiding cases similar to Tran Van Bac.
