Baby boy born with large tumor of 42-year-old mother in Nghe An
(Baonghean) - At 11 weeks pregnant, when going for a health check, Ms. HTH, 42 years old, in Quy Hop town (Nghe An) was told by the doctor that in addition to a mature fetus, there was also a fairly large fibroid tumor in her uterus.
Uterine fibroids are benign tumors that are common in women of childbearing age, especially in older women who have just become pregnant or those who are pregnant for the second time or more. In the small stage, the tumor often has no specific symptoms, so before pregnancy, many women do not know they have uterine fibroids until they are pregnant.
During pregnancy, the secretion of estrogen in the ovaries will promote the rapid growth of fibroids, which can cause complications during pregnancy such as dull or mild abdominal pain, mild bleeding, miscarriage, stillbirth or premature birth, easily causing abnormal fetal position, abnormal placenta placement, if the tumors are located low, it can prevent the baby from being born... At the same time, because the blood that nourishes the fetus must be partly divided to nourish the fibroids, the baby is born underweight or malnourished.

Doctors recommend that pregnant women with uterine fibroids should be closely monitored during pregnancy, get plenty of rest, and use anti-uterine contraction drugs as prescribed by the doctor to prevent miscarriage and premature birth. In addition, a diet should be applied to minimize the growth of tumors during pregnancy, such as fruits rich in vitamin C, vegetables living under the sea such as seaweed, agar, beans, poultry and fish.
At the same time, to prevent the risk of uterine fibroids and other diseases in general during pregnancy, before deciding to get pregnant, pregnant women should have a general check-up to ensure the best health./.
