Baby boy miraculously revived after being buried alive by mother

A Thai newborn baby is lucky to have survived and made a full recovery after being stabbed 14 times and buried alive by his cruel mother.

In February, Kachit Krongyut, a 53-year-old cowherd in Khon Kaen province, heard a cry under a eucalyptus tree. She ran over and found a tiny foot sticking out of the ground. Krongyut immediately dug up the soil with her hands and rescued the baby boy, Aidin, who was just a few days old, from a depth of about 20 centimeters.

"At first I thought someone had buried the pet alive, then I saw a foot. I tried to calm down and called for help. The baby was buried alive, face down on the ground," Mirror quoted Ms Krongyut as saying.

The baby was taken to hospital with serious injuries and bruises on his stomach. Doctors believe he was abused by his mother, a 42-year-old local. Luckily, the mud stopped the bleeding and saved his life.

Police found the mother after following footprints and traces of a motorbike at the scene. The woman was charged with attempted murder and abandonment of her child.

After seven months, Aidin is now fully recovered at the Kaen Thong orphanage and will be adopted by a Swedish couple. Mrs Krongyut and her husband said they were happy that Aidin's story had a happy ending.
