Boy infected with all kinds of viruses after sitting in a supermarket trolley

Vivienne Wardrop, 35, took her young son shopping with her. Like many mothers, she didn’t think twice before deciding to let him sit in the supermarket trolley. But it was something she regretted a lot, because just 24 hours after returning from the supermarket, her son had severe diarrhea that led to bloody stools.
Wardrop took the baby to the doctor and was told he had a virus. However, Logan's condition worsened and Wardrop had to transfer him to Gold Coast University Hospital immediately. There, doctors performed tests and said that Logan had adenovirus, rotavirus, salmonella bacteria and bacterial meningitis.

"We were afraid we would lose our child. It seemed like the doctors couldn't control the situation because they didn't know what was wrong with him. He looked quite lethargic, his eyes were bulging and his mouth was moaning," the mother recalled the terrible time she and her child fought the disease.
Wardrop listed all the factors that could have caused Logan’s critical condition. Ultimately, after much deliberation, she narrowed it down to the supermarket trolley she often put her son in while shopping. While Wardrop cannot blame the supermarket for what happened to her son, she wants to warn other parents to be more careful and only let their children sit in it when they are sure it is clean.
Logan has now been discharged from the hospital, but it will take some time for him to fully recover. The story shared by Wardrop on his personal Facebook page has attracted the attention of many parents.

- Keep distance between children and visitors:When visiting a newborn baby, many people like to hold the baby and kiss the cheek, but this is not safe for the baby. - Vaccination:This is important to ensure your child is protected against germs and diseases. You should have a vaccination log or schedule handy so you don’t miss any shots.
