Patient 426 died of end-stage renal failure and COVID-19
On the morning of August 4, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son, Head of the Ministry of Health's special standing unit for COVID-19 prevention and control in Da Nang City, informed about the death of COVID-19 patient No. 426 who died of end-stage chronic kidney failure and COVID-19 infection.
The Deputy Minister also said that there are currently a number of patients at high risk of death in the near future due to serious underlying diseases and old age.
Patient 426 (BN 426): female, 62 years old, hometown: Hoa Vang, Da Nang. Medical history: Chronic renal failure for 10 years. Patient was treated at the Department of Nephrology, Da Nang Hospital from July 18, 2020 to July 27, 2020.
From July 30, 2020, the patient was transferred to Hue Central Hospital for treatment. On July 31, the patient had poor communication, poor appetite, and mild difficulty breathing.
August 1, 3:00: patient on ventilator; 7:00: patient comatose, low blood pressure; 17:00: multiple organ failure, septic shock, poisoning. August 2, patient on continuous dialysis, ventilator.
August 3, 1:05: patient's pulse is slow, threatening circulatory and respiratory arrest; 8:00: patient is in deep coma, completely on mechanical ventilation via endotracheal tube; 10:24: patient is in coma, gastrointestinal bleeding; 18:30: pulse is intermittent, blood pressure gradually drops

Diagnosis, patient died of end-stage renal failure, septic shock, multiple organ failure and COVID-19
Previously, according to the epidemiological announcement of the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of Da Nang City on the evening of July 27, on July 17, the patient had difficulty breathing and felt very tired, so he went to the Artificial Kidney Department, Da Nang Hospital for examination and treatment.
On July 26, the patient developed a cough and was tested for SARS-CoV-2.
On the afternoon of July 27, the patient was quarantined at the Department of Nephrology and Urology, Da Nang Hospital. During the past 14 days, the patient only stayed at home and received treatment at the Department of Nephrology and Urology, Da Nang Hospital.
Thus, up to this point, 7 COVID-19 patients in our country who died were elderly people, with serious underlying diseases such as end-stage chronic kidney failure, end-stage leukemia unresponsive to chemotherapy, coronary syndrome, acute respiratory failure, osteoarthritis, hypertension...
