(Baonghean) - Thanh Chuong District General Hospital was established in 1965 (separated from Anh Thanh Do Hospital). Over its 50 years of formation and development, the hospital's staff has always upheld the spirit of unity and overcome difficulties, transforming the hospital from a weak institution to an outstanding unit in all aspects.

...Recognizing that the performance of professional duties is crucial to future development, the hospital has established an intensive care and toxicology department, staffed with sufficient specialist doctors and nurses, and equipped the emergency room with modern machinery and equipment; it also has a full range of clinics: internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, specialties, and traditional medicine, creating convenience for patients. In 2014, the number of outpatient visits reached 132,859/105,900; in 2015, it is estimated to exceed 104% of the plan. Inpatient treatment has implemented many modern techniques such as: hysterectomy, total hysterectomy, second, third, and fourth cesarean sections, ovarian cyst removal, ectopic pregnancy removal using laparoscopy, various types of bone fixation surgery, phacoemulsification cataract surgery, and other complex surgeries. In addition, over the past five years, the hospital has sent 60 doctors to reinforce commune health stations; In coordination with the district Social Insurance agency, 150 inspections and monitoring visits were conducted at commune health stations, and the dossiers for approving technical classification at these health stations were completed and submitted to the Department of Health for approval. Scientific research activities yield 5-10 projects annually; notably, two provincial-level projects have been applied in medical examination and treatment at the hospital.

The Party Committee and Board of Directors have always prioritized the training and development of staff, continuously improving their professional skills, political theory, and combining training in various forms such as short-term, medium-term, and long-term courses. To date, the hospital has 39 doctors, an increase of 13 compared to 2010; including 1 specialist doctor (Level II); 21 specialist doctors (Level I); all heads and deputy heads of departments and wards are specialist doctors (Level I), with at least intermediate-level political theory qualifications, and are continuing to train 3 specialist doctors (Level II), 44 specialist doctors (Level I), and 1 master's degree holder; providing training and updating knowledge for all hospital staff; and coordinating with the district health department to open 2 village health worker training courses... thereby ensuring timely medical examination and treatment for the people.

Despite the challenging financial situation, the hospital's Board of Directors maximized resources, mobilizing over 21 billion VND from various international programs and projects to build a liquid waste collection and treatment system worth 1.3 billion VND; upgrade the Internal Medicine building A, the Traditional Medicine building, and the incinerator worth nearly 3.2 billion VND; invest in upgrading the three specialized areas, the outpatient clinic area, the infection control building, and the nutrition and dietetics building, totaling 820 million VND from the hospital's savings; and secure over 1 billion VND in sponsorship to build an asphalt road from National Highway 46 around the campus and upgrade the entire front yard of the auditorium...

The hospital's management board consistently collaborates effectively with the Social Insurance agency and the District Preventive Health Center to provide good healthcare for the people, making a significant contribution to ensuring social security. The "Soup of Compassion" initiative, providing free soup every Saturday, is maintained regularly. The hospital has established a blood bank, and over the past five years, 35 doctors, nurses, and staff members have directly donated blood to save critically ill patients. The hospital has also done well in acts of gratitude, humanitarianism, and charity, donating over 500 million VND. Cultural and sports activities have won numerous awards in annual competitions at the district and provincial levels. National defense and security tasks have been successfully completed annually.

To achieve outstanding success in various fields, the Party Committee has effectively promoted the pioneering and exemplary role of cadres and Party members, creating positive changes in politics, ideology, and organization. Recognizing these achievements, the hospital's leadership and staff have received numerous Certificates of Merit and Commendations from the Provincial People's Committee for outstanding work, and Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Health. For five consecutive years, the hospital's Party Committee has been classified as "Clean and Strong" by the District Party Committee Standing Committee; including two years achieving the title of "Outstanding Clean and Strong"; and 100% of its Party branches have achieved the title of "Clean and Strong". Particularly in 2014, the hospital was honored to receive a Decision from the Provincial People's Committee recognizing it as a Class II Hospital, a Commendation Flag from the Provincial People's Committee, and a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.
