Nghe An General Friendship Hospital continues to successfully perform organ harvesting and transplantation from a brain-dead donor.
On October 1, Nghe An General Hospital in collaboration with Viet Duc Hospital performed organ retrieval and transplantation from a brain-dead donor. This is the second time the hospital has performed organ retrieval and transplantation from a brain-dead donor.
Previously, on September 30, a male patient (36 years old, residing in Yen Thanh district, Nghe An) had a traffic accident due to a fall. His family quickly took him to Nghe An General Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite intensive treatment by doctors and nurses, his brain damage did not recover.
The doctors informed the patient of his brain death and advised his family about the noble act of donating tissues and organs after death/brain death. The patient's family agreed to donate multiple organs. Recognizing the noble intentions of the patient's family,Nghe An General Friendship Hospitalhas carried out procedures in accordance with the provisions of law. At the same time, report to the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center.

Morning of October 1,Nghe An General Friendship Hospitalreceived support from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. This unit sent teams to support brain death resuscitation, brain death diagnosis and, together with teams from Nghe An General Friendship Hospital, to remove multiple organs (kidney, liver, heart, cornea) from brain dead patients and perform kidney transplants for 2 patients with end-stage chronic kidney failure who are undergoing periodic hemodialysis treatment.
Simultaneously,Nghe An General Friendship Hospitalalso quickly transported organs to other hospitals for transplant to patients.
This is a very meaningful milestone, demonstrating the expertise of the hospital's doctors and nurses in mastering kidney transplant techniques as well as other specialized techniques.
