Vinh International Hospital saves the life of a patient with anaphylactic shock due to food
(Baonghean) - Anaphylactic shock is the most serious allergic reaction, with a high risk of death if not diagnosed and treated promptly. Recently, Vinh International Hospital received and saved a patient who was admitted in critical condition, suffering from anaphylactic shock due to food.
Anaphylactic shock is the most severe allergic reaction, which can cause death due to respiratory and circulatory failure. The disease appears quickly, immediately or a few dozen minutes after exposure to the allergen (can be taking medicine, being bitten by an insect or eating strange food). Therefore, the patient needs to be given proper, timely and professional emergency care.

On the evening of January 14, 2018, Vinh International Hospital successfully treated patient VHSon (37 years old), from Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh. The patient was admitted to the hospital in a state of panic, delirium, trembling limbs, and itchy skin with hives after accidentally eating gac seeds (according to the patient).
After the Emergency Department doctors at Vinh International Hospital examined the patient, they found signs of shock such as slow capillary response, cyanosis, hypotension, and low oxygen pressure. The doctor could not detect the patient's radial or brachial pulse and could not measure the patient's blood pressure.

Anaphylactic shock: The fear of patients and doctors
(Baonghean.vn) - After the incident of 7 dialysis patients dying from suspected anaphylactic shock in Hoa Binh, many people wonder, what is anaphylactic shock and how dangerous is it to the patient's life?
Currently, after 20 hours of treatment, the patient is completely awake, blood pressure is stable, and vasopressor medication has been stopped.
Doctor Nguyen Quang Nguyen, Department of Emergency Resuscitation, who directly participated in the emergency treatment for the patient, said: “Anaphylactic shock can occur very early or sometimes later after a few hours, but when anaphylactic shock occurs, it will progress very quickly within 1-2 minutes and can turn into a critical state. The earlier the symptoms appear, the more severe the disease, the higher the mortality rate. Therefore, it is necessary to clearly understand the causes, symptoms, treatment and prevention to provide emergency treatment quickly, promptly and accurately for the patient.”
If you experience any unusual symptoms after exposure to an allergen such as: rash, difficulty breathing, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, low blood pressure, dizziness, etc., immediately go to the nearest medical facility for examination and timely emergency treatment; do not be subjective and arbitrarily use drugs such as anti-allergy drugs.
