Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital organized a workshop 'Update on treatment of musculoskeletal diseases - a new perspective'
(Baonghean.vn) - "Update on treatment of musculoskeletal diseases - a new perspective" is the topic of the Workshop organized by Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital on the morning of March 17.
Attending the workshop were comrades: Pharmacist CKII Tran Minh Tue - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health; People's Physician, Pharmacist CKI Hoang Van Hao - Chairman of Nghe An Oriental Medicine Association.
On the side of Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital, there were attending doctors CKII Ho Van Thang - Director of the Hospital; doctors CKII Nguyen Thi Hai - Deputy Director of the Hospital and representatives of related departments.
The workshop also had the participation of experts, scientists, and doctors with many years of experience in treating musculoskeletal diseases across the country.

Sharing experiences in combining two medical backgrounds in treating musculoskeletal diseases
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Dr. Ho Van Thang - Director of Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital emphasized: “Currently, musculoskeletal diseases are very common in the world as well as in Vietnam. According to estimates from the health sector, Vietnam is one of the countries with the highest rate of musculoskeletal diseases in the world. Although these diseases rarely cause death, they are the leading cause of disability, making patients lose the ability to move and work, causing pain, greatly affecting the quality of life of patients.

Traditional Medicine (TM) and Modern Medicine (MM) have both made great strides in treating the above diseases. Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital is a Grade I provincial hospital, the largest in the country in the traditional medicine sector. In recent years, the Hospital has made great strides in treating and taking care of people's health.

On this occasion, Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital organized a scientific seminar on the topic "Updated treatment of musculoskeletal diseases - a new perspective" to inherit, distill the quintessence and smoothly coordinate the two medical systems, thereby proposing optimal treatment solutions for patients.
This is a valuable opportunity for colleagues inside and outside the unit to meet, exchange expertise, study, and share experiences to improve the effectiveness of treating musculoskeletal diseases using traditional medicine combined with modern medicine.

The workshop was attended by experts, scientists, and doctors with many years of experience in treating musculoskeletal diseases nationwide, with a variety of useful reporting topics; providing new perspectives on treatment methods combining Traditional Medicine and Modern Medicine.
Accordingly, the reports at the conference focused on the following contents: The role of Traditional Medicine in the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases; Combining Traditional Medicine and Modern Medicine in the treatment of osteoarthritis; Combining Traditional Medicine in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis; Evaluating the effects of meridian therapy in the treatment of cervical shoulder-arm syndrome caused by cervical spondylosis; Evaluating the effectiveness of treating patients with knee osteoarthritis with the "Tam Ty thang" medicine combined with ultrasound therapy or electroacupuncture; Report on activated platelet-rich plasma and platelet-rich fibrin applied in musculoskeletal diseases.

Focus on applying scientific research to improve treatment effectiveness
Speaking at the Workshop, Pharmacist CKII Tran Minh Tue - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health emphasized: Implementing Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, vision to 2045", accordingly, Nghe An is identified as a specialized medical center of the North Central region, Vinh city plays a core role... medical units in the industry will be built and developed into a number of end-line hospitals; in which Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital strives to become a Grade I Traditional Medicine General Hospital and a regional end-line hospital.

Appreciating the contribution of Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital to the development of the province's health sector, the Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health emphasized that in recent times, the Hospital has coordinated with upper-level medical units, focusing on implementing specialized techniques to receive and effectively treat patients not only from Nghe An but also from neighboring provinces.
Scientific research is one of the key tasks, the hospital has implemented many scientific research topics at all levels, he hopes that in the coming time, scientific research will become a regular content at Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital, especially applied research serving medical examination and treatment work, to improve service quality and treatment effectiveness; thereby expanding the model not only at hospitals and grassroots health facilities.
The combination of traditional and modern medicine in the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases is currently very important, because this is a difficult disease to treat and greatly affects the quality of life of the patient. Therefore, the Deputy Director of the Department of Health hopes that, based on the content of scientific reports and topics that doctors and scientists exchange, it will be valuable experience to improve the effectiveness of treatment; this is also an opportunity for doctors to exchange with experienced experts in the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases, to solve problems occurring at the Hospital.
