Despite being thrashed by Atletico, Ronaldo still believes Real Madrid is stronger than their rivals.
The Portuguese striker believes in Real Madrid's ability to win La Liga this season, despite their recent 0-4 defeat in the Madrid derby.
Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the pitch after serving a two-match suspension. However, he played very poorly in Real Madrid's heavy 0-4 defeat to their city rivals on February 7th. Tiago, Saul, Antoine Griezmann, and Mario Mandzukic were the goalscorers.
"Real are still stronger than Atletico, but we need to prove that on the pitch for the rest of the season. Regardless, I still believe Real will win the championship when the season ends," the striker, who recently celebrated his 30th birthday, said after the match.

In their last six encounters with Atletico, Real Madrid have failed to win: losing four and drawing two. The Royal team entered the Madrid derby on February 7th at a disadvantage with key players like Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, and James Rodriguez injured. Despite having many star players remaining, Carlo Ancelotti's side suffered a swift defeat, falling behind by two goals within just 18 minutes.
"Everything was terrible today. It was a day to forget. Real can't lose by four goals against any team," Ronaldo said dejectedly. "We played without enthusiasm, we weren't prepared mentally or physically. Everyone had little time to recover after the midweek game."
Real's defeat has made the Liga title race even more exciting. Atletico are now four points behind league leaders Real. If Barca win this round, they will be one point behind Real.
