The content of the case shows that in November 2022, Dang Van Vu went to work in Cambodia and met a man named Dung (introduced as a Tay Ninh native, unknown address and background). During the conversation, Dung asked Vu to find someone to buy crystal meth to sell for profit, Vu agreed. The two agreed that Dung would sell it to Vu for 180 million VND/kg and Vu would resell it to someone else for 240 million VND/kg. Of the profit of 60 million VND, Vu would share 20 million VND with Dung, Vu would receive the remaining amount.
Also during this time, Vu met a man named Tai (unknown background). Through conversation, Vu asked Tai to find someone to buy drugs and would pay him.

In March 2023, when Dang Van Vu returned to Vietnam, Tai contacted him via Telegram saying, "There is a man in Vinh city who needs to get water (meaning crystal meth)." Tai gave Vu his phone number to connect. After contacting him via Zalo, this person ordered 3kg of crystal meth and the two sides agreed on a price of 240 million VND/kg. There was a customer who ordered drugs, Vu contacted Dung to order 3kg, but Dung only agreed to let Vu sell 1kg first, and if things went well, he would send another 2kg.
Dung sent the "goods" by bus, Vu went to pick up the goods and then brought them back to hide them in an abandoned house on the Hong Linh town bypass (Ha Tinh). On the afternoon of April 12, 2023, the customer who bought the "goods" contacted him to make a transaction. As instructed, Vu went to get the drugs and left them at the base of a tree, near a roadside sign, waiting for someone to come and pick them up. However, at this time, the sanitation worker thought it was a trash bag and picked it up on a cart. Vu ran after to get the "goods" bag back and walked on the street when he was discovered by the police, caught red-handed, and confiscated the evidence including 991 grams of crystal meth.
