Arrested for assaulting a police officer after a breathalyzer test.
When asked to stop their motorbike for a breathalyzer test, which came back positive for the violation, the two motorcyclists assaulted the police officers. They were subsequently apprehended and arrested, and later faced criminal prosecution for "Resisting a Public Officer in the Performance of Their Duties".
Information from the Investigation Police Department of Ninh Hai District (Ninh Thuan Province) indicates that they have served the indictment decision and executed the temporary detention order for the crime of "Resisting law enforcement officers"This concerns Pham Van Son (born in 1974) and Bui Xinh Trung (born in 1987, both residing in Phuong Cuu 3 village, Phuong Hai commune, Ninh Hai district, Ninh Thuan province).
Earlier, on the afternoon of November 24, 2024, while a task force from the Ninh Hai District Police was conducting traffic safety patrols on Truong Chinh Street, Khanh Hiep neighborhood, Khanh Hai town, Ninh Hai district, they spotted Pham Van Son driving a motorbike with license plate 85V2-1374 carrying Bui Xinh Trung, exhibiting suspicious behavior. They requested the vehicle to stop for an administrative check.
When tested for alcohol concentration with a result of 0.505mg/l of breath, the task force drew up a report of administrative violation, but unexpectedly, Son and Trung rushed in and used their hands and feet to punch and beat Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Van Quang and Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Trong Ninh.
Shortly afterward, the two individuals resisting arrest were subdued and apprehended by the task force and taken to the Khanh Hai Town Police Station to have a report of their crime recorded. Following their temporary detention, Son and Trung were charged and remanded in custody on the aforementioned charges, as approved by the Ninh Hai District People's Procuracy.
