Defendant Tuong stated that Khanh was the one who suggested dumping the body.
The driver took Huyen's body to Bach Mai Hospital, then circled around to the Post Office Hospital, but because it was too crowded, Dr. Tuong did not dare to enter the hospital. In a panic, Khanh suggested dumping the body and Dr. Tuong complied.

Representative of the People's Procuracy announced the 15-page indictment
At exactly 8:40, the two defendants Nguyen Manh Tuong and Dao Quang Khanh were led to the dock. The two defendants wore dark blue windbreakers. In contrast to the previous trial, this time the defendants Tuong and Khanh looked much thinner.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan - representative of the People's Procuracy holding the right to prosecute at the court announced the 15-page indictment. According to the indictment, 10 people who were employees of Cat Tuong Beauty Salon knew that Dr. Tuong caused the death but did not report it to the authorities. However, the above behavior did not constitute a crime, the investigation agency decided to impose administrative penalties.
After the representative of the Procuracy read the indictment, the Trial Panel began questioning the defendants. When questioned, defendant Nguyen Manh Tuong immediately apologized to Ms. Huyen's family. However, the presiding judge said he would speak later and began questioning.
Standing in the dock, defendant Tuong calmly answered the presiding judge’s questions. According to defendant Tuong, he started opening Cat Tuong beauty salon in May 2013, and had a business registration license and was granted in May 2013.
“The defendant opened a full facility, completed many paperwork procedures, and met all the conditions. Doctors must have a practice license and administrative certificates. There is no certificate from the Department of Health,” defendant Tuong stated.
However, despite not being granted a medical certificate, defendant Tuong still opened and operated the beauty salon. Defendant Tuong stated that he performed the correct liposuction procedure for Ms. Huyen's breast augmentation.
When asked about the motive for dumping the body into the Red River without reporting to the police or the victim's family, defendant Tuong stated, "I was afraid that the cosmetic facility would be known as the cause of death and would be criticized by society, so I dumped the body to destroy evidence."
Answering the judge's question about after Ms. Le Thi Thanh Huyen died, Tuong said he had the staff clean up all the furniture and equipment.
“The defendant put the victim’s body in the car and intended to take it to the Post Office Hospital, then notify the family and explain the incident. However, when I arrived at the hospital gate, there were many people, so I drove around for about 15 minutes before thinking about disposing of Ms. Huyen’s body,” defendant Tuong stated.
When asked about the motive for dumping the body in the Red River without reporting to the police or the victim's family, Tuong said, "I was afraid that the cosmetic facility would be accused of causing death and would be criticized by society, so I dumped the body to destroy evidence."

Pharmaceutical formulas learned from foreign professors
Defendant Nguyen Manh Tuong stated that the main consultant was a nurse named Mai, along with four others. Tuong himself was the instructor, but he did not know who prepared the medicine. The medicine was bought at a pharmacy in front of Bach Mai Hospital.
The surgery for Ms. Huyen lasted about 3-4 hours. Tuong confirmed that during the surgery, Ms. Huyen did not show any unusual symptoms. After 30 minutes, Ms. Huyen showed signs of convulsions in her legs and arms and foaming at the mouth. Tuong thought that these were signs of epilepsy. After treating and monitoring Ms. Huyen, Tuong saw that she was normal for about 30 minutes and then went out to the temple.
The court asked why Tuong did not stay when Ms. Huyen had such symptoms, but left her to the nurses at home. Tuong said that Ms. Huyen had no problem. About 1 hour after leaving, the nurses called to inform them of Ms. Huyen's unusual condition, and Tuong instructed the nurses on how to handle it over the phone. Tuong did not remember who called him.
When he returned to the hospital, Tuong saw Dr. Thanh, nurses Van, Mai, and Hoa. Tuong said he was the one who called Dr. Thanh, and that Dr. Thanh sometimes came to give instructions at the hospital. After examining Ms. Huyen, defendant Tuong found no heartbeat, so he gave her a heart medication.
Defendant Tuong stated that Khanh was the one who suggested dumping Huyen's body into the river to hide the evidence. On the way to take the body, his wife, Nguyen Thi Hang, was there. Although his wife tried to dissuade him, due to fear, he still decided to dump the body.
According to defendant Tuong, Khanh was the one who suggested dumping the body, and the defendant, out of fear, followed suit.
Tuong said that when he arrived at Thanh Tri bridge, he dumped the body into the Red River. Khanh assisted in carrying the body. The defendant did not ask his wife to help because she was very scared at that time and was sitting huddled in the car. The defendant said he dumped the body for no reason and did not think about anything.
The court asked why he did not report Ms. Huyen's death to the authorities. Tuong said he was afraid that her family would find out so he planned to transfer her body to the Post Office Hospital, because he had previously transferred her body to Bach Mai Hospital but it was too crowded so he changed direction.
Defendant Tuong stated that when he entered the Post Office Hospital, because it was crowded, he turned around and drove around for 15 minutes, then followed Khanh's suggestion.
The defendant said that it was not possible, so Khanh said "if God loves you, you will escape".
Tuong said he was not taken to the hospital mainly because he was not calm and was scared because there were too many people.
10:35, the Court moved on to question nurses Van, Thu and Mai.
Nguyen Thi Hoa is a nurse at Cat Tuong Beauty Salon. Nurse Hoa said she mixed the medicine according to the formula instructed by Dr. Tuong. Hoa has worked at the beauty salon for more than a month but does not remember how many surgeries she has participated in similar to Ms. Huyen.
Nurse Hoa said that in previous surgeries, patients usually wake up and then fall asleep. But with Ms. Huyen, during the procedure, she had a painful reaction, with her arms and legs twitching.
When Dr. Tuong went out, nurse Hoa and a nurse named Thu took turns on duty and about an hour later, when Ms. Huyen showed unusual symptoms, the nurses called Dr. Tuong.
The court asked: Were you present during the entire surgery?
Nurse Thu: When I returned, I saw that Ms. Huyen was having convulsions. At that time, Dr. Tuong gave me oxygen, gave me an injection... I don't remember how long after the surgery I came out. I have participated in surgeries like this about ten times but none of them were like Ms. Huyen's.
The court asked: Did the nurses recommend taking Ms. Huyen to the emergency room?
Statement: We suggested taking Ms. Huyen to the emergency room with Ms. Mai, but Ms. Mai did not say anything. Only a few minutes later, Dr. Tuong returned. When I discovered Ms. Huyen had passed away, I also helped change her clothes. At that time, Ms. Huyen was wearing black pants, a black and white floral shirt, short sleeves, and no collar. When the victim's body was discovered, the investigation agency also let us see Ms. Huyen's clothes again.
Van said: “Doctor Tuong told me to give Huyen oxygen and put in an IV, but he didn’t tell me to take Huyen to the emergency room. Hoa, Thu and I all suggested taking Huyen to the emergency room.” Nurse Thu said she went out 2-3 times during the surgery.
At 11am, it was time to question defendant Dao Quang Khanh. Khanh calmly and clearly answered the questions of the judge. Khanh stated that he started working as a car manager and security guard at Cat Tuong beauty salon since September and was introduced by his cousin.
“The defendant still remembers the day Ms. Huyen came to Cat Tuong beauty salon at around 9:30-10:00, riding a motorbike and wearing black pants, a white shirt with black patterns. As for how the surgery was performed, the defendant was not allowed inside so he did not know,” Khanh stated.
According to Khanh: “After the incident with Ms. Huyen, Mr. Tuong told the defendant that he and his brother would take her to the emergency room. However, at that time the defendant knew that Ms. Huyen had passed away. However, at that time the defendant only thought of helping him because he helped the defendant get a job, so he did not think that what he did was wrong,” Khanh said.
Continuing to answer the judge's question, Khanh stated: "Ms. Mai asked to move some things and carry Ms. Huyen's body to the car. Ms. Huyen was dead, besides the defendant, Mr. Tuong and Mr. Cong carried Ms. Huyen into the car.
After that, the defendant rode Ms. Huyen's motorbike with Cong to the Post Office Hospital. When they reached the gate, they did not take him to the hospital. After that, the defendant told Mr. Tuong that he was a doctor, and that he was also a doctor, so he could not bring him in if he died like this.
Khanh also stated: “Mr. Tuong told the defendant to take the body away to dump it.” This statement contradicts Khanh’s initial statement at the investigation agency. Khanh said: “After returning the file for additional investigation, the defendant changed his statement that Mr. Tuong was the one who thought of dumping the body. However, the defendant stated that he was not the one who thought of it, so he was immediately threatened and the investigator told him to make the same statement as before.”
Regarding Khanh's new testimony, the presiding judge said: "The jury will review this detail."
Khanh also testified: “The defendant went by Ms. Huyen’s motorbike. Then Cong said he was scared and couldn’t do it, so he went home. After that, Ms. Hang was the one who went with the defendant. When they arrived at Co Linh (Long Bien), Mr. Tuong told them to leave the motorbike there and then got in the car with Mr. Tuong. There were the defendant, Mr. Tuong and Ms. Hang in the car, but no one said a word. Both the defendant and Tuong threw it away, at Thanh Tri bridge.”
“When Huyen’s body was dumped into the Red River, there was the defendant and Mr. Tuong. After the body was dumped, Mr. Tuong said he would double her salary next month, and Ms. Hang said only 3 people knew about this and no one else could know,” Khanh added.
11:05, Court interrogates Nguyen Thi Hang - wife of defendant Nguyen Manh Tuong
Ms. Hang stated: "While Mr. Tuong was taking the body away to dump it, I tried to stop him from taking the body away, but my husband didn't say anything. I tried to advise him, but maybe Khanh didn't hear me at that time."
When the court asked why she did not inform the authorities but went with Tuong to dump the body, Ms. Hang said, “After trying to stop my husband but to no avail, I was really scared and didn’t think of anything. I was so scared that I just sat still in the car.”
The court adjourned to resume the trial in the afternoon.
