These households were previously allowed by Regiment 242 to temporarily anchor to avoid storms, but then arbitrarily stayed to illegally cultivate aquatic products in the waters of the military-defense zone for many years, affecting the defense and security of the waters of Van Hoa Port, Van Don.
In compliance with the provisions of the law and also the requirements of the Naval Region I Command on ensuring management in the military-defense area; on the basis of harmonizing the interests of the people, Van Don district organized mobilization, propaganda, and agreed on plans for these households to relocate in accordance with regulations. However, these households showed signs of deliberate resistance, so Van Don district was forced to organize enforcement.
During the implementation, 6 households voluntarily relocated on November 14; only Mr. Nguyen Van Tien's household (Nguyen Huu Doanh) obstructed and fiercely resisted, throwing homemade petrol bombs at the officers on duty, injuring several officers. The authorities promptly controlled and arrested them, and after screening, temporarily detained a number of subjects.
The authorities of Quang Ninh province are continuing to expand the investigation and resolutely handle violators according to the provisions of the law./.
