Surrounded by people, 3 dog thieves abandoned their car and ran up the mountain.

At around 9pm last night (July 19), after being chased by people from Son Linh and Son Hong communes (Huong Son district) for stealing dogs in the area, 3 subjects abandoned their car and escaped up the mountain. This morning, 1 of the 3 subjects came down from the mountain to surrender.

A resident of Son Linh commune who participated in chasing the dog thieves said that at around 7:00 p.m. on July 19, when they saw a Chevrolet Spark car with license plate 37S-8134 traveling from Son Linh to the border commune of Son Hong with signs of suspicion of stealing dogs, the residents organized to stop and arrest it.

Suddenly blocked, the car turned around and sped into Son Hong commune. After fleeing for more than 5km, reaching village 6 of Son Hong commune, the 3 men abandoned the car and ran up the mountain to escape.

The dog cage was found in the back of the car trunk.

People broke the car window to check and discovered dog-stealing tools and a dog cage in the car. The incident was reported to the authorities.

That night, the functional forces including border guards, security forces of Son Hong and Son Linh communes and local people coordinated to capture the three subjects. However, the capture of the subjects encountered difficulties due to the darkness and rugged mountainous terrain.

As of this morning, according to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Giap, Chief of Son Hong Border Guard Station, one of the three suspects, Tran Dinh Son Nhat (born in 1990, from Trieu Phong, Quang Tri, currently residing in residential group 4, Bac Hong ward, Hong Linh town, Ha Tinh) has surrendered from the mountain. Meanwhile, the other two suspects have cut through the forest and fled downstream.

Subject Tran Dinh Son Nhat came down from the mountain to surrender to the authorities this morning.

During the struggle, Nhat revealed the identities of the two fugitives as Nguyen Huy Thang (born in 1990, Kim Loc commune, Can Loc district) and Nguyen Tien Dat (born in 1992, residing in Yen Ho commune, Duc Tho district).

Son Hong Border Guard Station handed over the suspect and evidence to Huong Son District Police.

The incident is being urgently investigated by the authorities./.
