Playing the role of a selfish, greedy sister-in-law who does not consider her husband as a family member, Thanh Huong's character was scolded by many viewers. Many viewers were so upset that they went to the actress's personal page to express their anger.
Sharing in the VTV Connection program, the actress said she was not surprised by the audience's reaction.“I had already determined this, so I felt the audience's reaction was very normal. I even felt happy because I had portrayed the role well,”she said.
Having played many different roles, Thanh Huong admits that the character Khanh is not a bad person but not a good person either, making it difficult to portray.“The hardest thing about this role is that every scene is very “real life”,Huong shared.
It is easy to play roles that are completely good or completely bad, but this role is always changing. It requires you to try very hard to portray Khanh as true to the spirit of the script as possible.
The actress said that to transform into the character Khanh, throughout the filming process, she always put herself in the character's position. In fact, she not only kept the original appearance of the character Khanh but also "injected" some of the character's personality after leaving the set.
“I lived with the character throughout the filming process, always remembering the roles surrounding Khanh like Mam, Uncle Tri… I have to believe I am Khanh for the audience to believe in my role.”, Thanh Huong commented.
The actress also said that she and her colleagues always interact with each other, giving each other feedback in each scene to complete the role in the best way. Everyone has a chat group that includes all the actors in the film. When we have any "worries" or feedback for our role or someone else's, we all express it in there.
As someone who has many scenes with Thanh Huong in the film, Duy Hung (playing Tri) understands very well the script and the psychological development of the character Khanh. Thanh Huong said that the actor often teased and reminded her when filming the scenes where Khanh made the audience upset.
In particular, the actor could not hide his discomfort with Khanh's character: "Once after watching the movie, Duy Hung told me:“I hate you so much.” We listen to each other and always give suggestions to help the person next to us improve.”
The actress said that the film has come to the final episodes but there will still be many climaxes in the relationship between Khanh and Tri. She affirmed that the film's script will bring many surprises to the audience.
