Prosecuted for giving car to drunk driver causing fatal accident
Tuyen knew that BCT had used alcohol and was not qualified to drive, but still gave the motorbike key to BCT, leading to a traffic accident.
On February 21, information from the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) said that the Investigation Police Agency of Luong Son District Police, Hoa Binh Province, has initiated a case and prosecuted Bui Van Tuyen (23 years old), residing in Thanh Cao Commune (Luong Son District) for investigation of the crime of "Handing over a vehicle to a person who is not qualified to drive a vehicle on the road".
Previously, on the evening of February 3, Bui Van Tuyen drank alcohol with Mr. BCT (21 years old), residing in Luong Son district and 2 other people. At 9:45 p.m. the same day, BCT borrowed Tuyen's motorbike with license plate 28G1- 350.XX to pick up his girlfriend. When reaching Km 450+ 600 of Ho Chi Minh road (through Ben Market, Thanh Cao commune, Luong Son district), he collided with motorbike with license plate 29E1- 647.XX driven by Mr. NVH (23 years old), residing in Luong Son district.

As a result, Mr. BCT and NVH died. According to the forensic conclusion of the Institute of Criminal Science (Ministry of Public Security), BCT's blood alcohol concentration was 90mg/100ml of blood. The Investigation Police Agency determined that Tuyen was a person with full criminal capacity and was aware of his violations. Tuyen knew that BCT had consumed alcohol and was not qualified to drive a vehicle, but still gave the motorbike key to Mr. BCT to drive, leading to a traffic accident.
Currently, defendant Tuyen is subject to preventive measures of being prohibited from leaving his place of residence.
