Fined 70 million VND for selling cosmetics of unknown origin

(Baonghean.vn) - In addition to being fined, the cosmetics store owner also had his administrative violation evidence confiscated, including 24 types of cosmetics worth more than half a billion VND.

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 23/QD-UBND to administratively fine Mr. Dinh Tien Hoang (born in 1984, residing in Dong Vinh ward, Vinh city, cosmetics business at No. 2, Vicentra Quang Trung, Quang Trung ward, Vinh city) 70 million VND.

The reason is that Mr. Hoang committed an administrative violation of trading in goods of unknown origin and source in cases where the value of the violating goods was from 100 million VND or more (the violating goods were cosmetics temporarily detained with a total value of 521,585,000 VND), as prescribed in Point c, Clause 1, Clause 12; Point a, Clause 13, Article 21, Decree No. 185/2013/ND-CP dated November 15, 2013 of the Government, amended and supplemented in Clause 17, Article 1, Decree No. 124/2015/ND-CP dated November 19, 2015 of the Government.

Mr. Hoang is not entitled to any mitigating circumstances or aggravating circumstances. However, the remedial measure is to force Mr. Hoang to destroy the infringing exhibits within 20 days from the date of receipt of Decision No. 23.

The decision also stated: Nghe An Market Management Department shall assign the decision on penalties and take necessary measures to ensure the collection of sufficient fines from violators. At the same time, organize monitoring, urging, and inspecting the implementation of remedial measures.
