Born into a farming family in Van An hamlet, Van Dien commune, witnessing his parents working hard all year round in the fields to provide for his three siblings' education, Dai was independent from a young age, not letting his parents or teachers remind him or bother him about his studies.

As a 9th grader at Dang Chanh Ky Secondary School, Tran Van Dai won third prize in the provincial Physics competition. Constantly striving, in his 11th grade year, Dai participated in the provincial competition for excellent students in two subjects: Mathematics and Physics.

When asked about the secret to studying, Dai shared: “In addition to mastering theoretical knowledge thoroughly, solving exercises is also a way to grasp the theory. Always do all the exercises in the textbook, think carefully, find many ways to solve them to come up with the fastest solution, from there have a method for each type of exercise. Besides, arranging time scientifically and reasonably is the secret to help me achieve high efficiency in studying.”

Thanks to that, Dai's academic results are truly admirable: For 3 consecutive years of high school, he has always achieved the title of excellent student with an average score of over 8.5. Notably, in the 2016 national high school exam, he achieved a total of 27.45 points (Math: 9.25, Physics: 9, Chemistry 9.2).

Commenting on her excellent student, the homeroom teacher Nguyen Thanh Thu said: “Dai’s family is a farmer, the economy is quite difficult, but he is very intelligent, with a high sense of self-reliance. Dai is a good student, studying all subjects equally. In the mock exams at school, Dai always gets a score above 27. He is very sociable and is admired by his friends and teachers.”

After school hours, Dai works very hard to help his parents with the farm work.

With a score of 27.45, the doors of the People's Police Academy will certainly welcome him. From here, Dai will realize his dream of becoming a police officer to have the opportunity to contribute his talent and youth to the country and homeland, repaying the efforts of raising, educating and the expectations of his family, teachers and friends.
