In the recent 10th grade entrance exam, at the Thanh Chuong 1 High School Admissions Council, Dat scored 9 in Math; 7.75 in Literature; 9.4 in English. At Phan Boi Chau Specialized School (Vinh City), Dat scored 16.75/20 in Math, and was the valedictorian of the Math class. According to Dat, "The Math exam at Phan Boi Chau this year was within my ability. However, I did not do very well. Talking about his own learning method, Dat said: “I don’t have any special secret. When I go to class, I usually pay attention to the teacher’s lectures, and when I get home, I try to do all the exercises. I like to collect advanced books and exam sets to learn more. I also consider the Internet an effective learning channel. I often study late at night, and many nights I do exercises until 1-2 am, which is normal.”

Dat is a diligent and hardworking student. His house is more than 8 km from school, so he usually goes home during the day. On evening review days, he "stays for a sandwich and studies until late at night before going home". Dat is good at all subjects, besides his strong subjects such as Math, English, Physics, he also loves History. Dat's final grade for grade 9: Math 10, IT: 9.3, History: 9.4...

Dat said that he dreamed of entering Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted since grade 6. Over the past years, he has worked very hard to achieve this goal. Dat is the youngest child in a farming family of 3 siblings. Dat's older siblings are also good students. In addition to farming, Dat's parents also do side jobs such as trading, gas station security, etc. Dat's mother added: Dat has a high sense of self-discipline in studying, his parents rarely have to remind him. Thanks to the advice of teachers, he chose his own school to take exams and study. The road ahead is still long, the family also hopes that he will always strive to study well."
