The 'secret' to attracting and gathering young people of a youth union leader

(Baonghean.vn) - As a leader of the Youth Union, Le Quoc Tri - Secretary of the Youth Union of Village 8, Tuong Son Commune (Anh Son) has had many good and creative ways to attract and gather young people to participate in the activities of the Youth Union movement in the locality.

Mr. Le Quoc Tri - Secretary of the Youth Union of Village 8, Tuong Son Commune (Anh Son) is the only representative of Anh Son District to participate in the "Excellent Youth Union Secretary" contest organized by the Provincial Youth Union last August. Born in 1988, graduated from the University of Forestry, majoring in Environmental Science in 2010, after more than 1 year of going to the South and the North to find a job, but life was still difficult, at the end of 2011 he decided to return to his hometown to start a business and participate in the movements of the village. In 2014 he was elected as Secretary of the Youth Union of Village 8, Tuong Son Commune.

As the secretary of the Youth Union, Mr. Le Quoc Tri always innovates and builds programs and activity plans with diverse, rich and practical forms to attract union members to participate.

After 2 years of being the "leader" of more than 25 union members, including 5 lay union members, with his dynamism, enthusiasm and dedication, youth union leader Le Quoc Tri has known how to mobilize and gather local youth union members effectively; he regularly innovates the way of organizing and building diverse, rich and practical programs and activity plans, suitable to the conditions of the village, at the same time setting specific targets, through the union branch meetings to create a useful playground to attract and gather youth union members to participate.

Carrying out the campaign “Anh Son Youth follow Uncle Ho’s teachings”, Mr. Le Quoc Tri regularly organizes youth projects and tasks; every Saturday afternoon, the Youth Union organizes for members to participate in cleaning the environment, village roads, and alleys. On holidays, they visit and give gifts to families with meritorious services.

To raise funds for the activities of the Youth Union, Secretary of the Youth Union Le Quoc Tri creatively organized a meeting night for youth union members returning home for Tet with many programs such as karaoke singing contest, campfire, drinking rice wine, thereby calling for donations to support the movement activities of the Youth Union with 4.8 million VND.

Not only is he an active and enthusiastic pioneer in the Youth Union movement, Mr. Le Quoc Tri is also a typical example in developing the family economy. He and his family are currently raising buffalo, pigs, chickens and trading agricultural materials. In addition, he also has a workshop printing gifts, souvenirs, and sports goods. The annual income from the models reaches 150 million VND.

Mr. Le Quoc Tri shared: “Doing Youth Union work requires enthusiasm and passion. In addition to directing and guiding, we must also actively participate with union members and youth in each specific task, not afraid of difficulties and hardships. When there is an activity in the locality, we must directly go to each union member and youth's house to mobilize and explain in detail the activities that the youth will participate in, only then can we attract union members and youth to participate.”

With his achievements, Mr. Le Quoc Tri has been awarded a Certificate of Merit by Anh Son District Youth Union for many years in a row for his outstanding achievements in Youth Union work. At the 2016 "Excellent Youth Union Secretary" Contest for men organized by the Provincial Youth Union, he was one of 21 outstanding individuals to be commended and awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee.
