The Party branch secretary is dedicated to the people.

(Baonghean) - For 10 years as the Party Secretary of the Trung Tien hamlet, Quynh Thang commune (Quynh Luu district), Comrade Nguyen Van Hong has had many initiatives, contributing to stimulating local movements, building a clean and strong Party branch, and improving the lives of the villagers.

Comrade Nguyen Van Hong guided the people through the procedures for borrowing capital to develop their economy.

In 2004, Comrade Nguyen Van Hong, then a member of the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, was assigned by the commune Party Committee to serve as the Party Secretary of Trung Tien village. At that time, the Party branch had only 3 members, and out of 109 households in Trung Tien village, 100% were poor. The various mass organizations were consistently rated as weak each year, tax contributions to the state fund were delayed, and debts to the bank and local authorities were uncollectible. Faced with this situation, Comrade Hong, together with the Party branch committee, issued a resolution to lead, direct, and mobilize the villagers to actively develop the economy, eradicate hunger and poverty, and especially focus on promoting livestock farming towards commercial production. In his capacity as Party Secretary, he directed the village committee to proactively coordinate with the district's agricultural extension center to organize training courses on livestock and crop farming techniques right in the village to improve the awareness and experience of the villagers.

Through the support of Program 135, he mobilized the people to buy cows and goats to raise, suitable for the terrain and climate, combined with promoting the planting of forests, sugarcane, and cassava to increase income. Party branch secretary Nguyen Van Hong said: “When I first took on the role of Party branch secretary of Trung Tien village, I was very worried because the village was in a very poor state at that time, and the people's awareness was limited. However, when I, along with the comrades in the Party committee, developed resolutions and targets that were realistic, and used appropriate mobilization methods, the economy developed better and better, and poverty reduction was gradually resolved.”

Thanks to sound leadership and the collective efforts of the entire Party branch, and with the people proactively developing their existing resources without relying on support from the Party, the State, or higher levels, by the end of 2014, Trung Tien village had reduced the number of poor households to 56. The total value of production reached over 2.7 billion VND. The people have effectively implemented all the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations; all contributions to local development have been fulfilled. Cultural and artistic movements, sports activities, and local development initiatives organized by the commune and higher levels have all been enthusiastically participated in and achieved high results.

Typically, in implementing the national target program on building new rural areas, the village has cleared 2 km of internal field roads and 1.5 km of inter-village roads. Residents donated nearly 1,000 m2 of land and 100 trees of various types worth approximately 200 million VND, and contributed 49 million VND in cash. Simultaneously, from the capital of 135, the villagers built 400m of concrete inter-village roads worth over 400 million VND. Thanks to these changes, the village is becoming increasingly prosperous. For four consecutive years, the Trung Tien village Party branch has been recognized by the Party Committee as a strong and exemplary Party branch, and Comrade Hong himself has received many commendations. Comrade Nguyen Van Dien - Secretary of the Party Committee of Quynh Thang commune, said: “Comrade Nguyen Van Hong always upholds a high sense of responsibility and has had many initiatives to mobilize villagers in the program of mutual assistance to alleviate poverty, as well as promoting cultural and social activities, so Trung Tien village has seen many positive changes and progress.”

With his enthusiasm, dedication, and sense of responsibility, Party branch secretary Nguyen Van Hong has helped people overcome poverty and rise to legitimate wealth, truly leaving a lasting impression on the villagers.
