Speaking at the 17th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghe An province, term 2017 - 2022, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Le Quoc Phong, on behalf of the Central Youth Union Secretariat, acknowledged, commended and warmly congratulated the achievements of the Youth Union and the youth movement of Nghe An province in the term 2012 - 2017.

Nghe An youth are present in the socio-economic, defense and security fields of the province such as participating in urban beautification, building new rural areas, protecting the environment, preventing and overcoming natural disasters, building charity houses, volunteering to help people in difficult areas, fighting against crimes and social evils, etc.

Many good models and creative methods implemented by the Youth Union at all levels in the province have had practical significance in solving weak links, difficult tasks, and new tasks in labor production, improving labor productivity, product quality, and bringing high economic value.

The First Secretary of the Central Youth Union also noted that all levels of the Youth Union need to frankly acknowledge the limitations in order to promptly overcome them. For example: Although the Youth Union's educational work has made many efforts to innovate, it has not been truly comprehensive to all subjects, only focusing on the Youth Union members in schools, Youth Union members, civil servants, public employees, armed forces... There is still a situation where a group of young people violate the law, commit social evils, lack courage, and are indifferent to social issues...

Grasping the ideological situation and orienting the youth is sometimes not timely, and there is confusion in handling some hot and complicated issues. The work of gathering youth and developing the Youth Union and Association in non-state enterprises has changed slowly.

Orienting the activities of the Youth Union movement in the coming term of Nghe An province, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Le Quoc Phong emphasized that in order to build the Youth Union organization into a reliable companion of young people, the congress paid special attention to discussing to find effective solutions to care for and support young people to improve their academic qualifications, professional skills, start-ups, establish businesses, develop social practice skills and improve physical, cultural and spiritual life; strongly deploy movements to support students in difficult circumstances, support families with preferential policies.

Besides, the Youth Union at all levels needs to be creative in implementing programs and work contents, striving to make Nghe An a typical and leading unit of the country in Youth Union work and youth movements.

To achieve that goal, the Youth Union at all levels of Nghe An province need to implement many measures, create many good and effective ways; such as focusing on promoting and setting examples of capable and qualified cadres; building advanced youth models, building a force of reporters, innovating the education work of the Youth Union; testing many new and effective education methods; raising awareness of political mettle, building a beautiful and useful lifestyle, and youth union members daring to speak up to protect good things.

In addition, continue to promote the volunteer movement; the Youth Union must always play a central role, guiding the activities of youth union members in all fields and activities. Youth Union chapters at all levels have effective measures and methods to arouse the spirit and creativity of youth union members. Accordingly, building and forming initiatives, inventions and innovations must become a regular need of young people, along with building learning units, learning societies, connecting experts and investors to support startups among youth union members.

This is an important content, contributing to determining the quality of local union work. Union chapters at all levels need to pay attention to strengthening the Union organization, especially the grassroots Union organization in residential areas;

Pay attention to the work of creating sources, planning, training and fostering Youth Union cadres to meet the requirements of work in the new period; expand the solidarity front, gather young people, especially rural youth, religious youth, and ethnic minority youth in the province. Proactively and persistently advise Party committees, authorities and sectors to create mechanisms, policies and resources for the activities of the Youth Union.

In addition to participating in socio-economic development and volunteering for life, building a strong Youth Union in terms of politics, ideology, organization and action is also extremely important.

Nghe An youth need to pay special attention to improving the quality of union members, educating revolutionary ideals and absolute faith in the Party's leadership for union members; improving the quality of union branch activities, strengthening the training of union members to supplement the Party's elite union members.
