Provincial Party Secretary congratulates the Department of Education and Training and the Provincial Association of Former Teachers on Vietnamese Teachers' Day
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 18, on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20), a delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province led by comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council visited and congratulated the leaders, officials, and civil servants of the Department of Education and Training; and leaders and members of the Provincial Association of Former Teachers.
Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Pham Trong Hoang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; representatives of the Provincial Youth Union and Vinh City.
For nearly 2 years, the context in the province, the country and the world has been very unfavorable, the Covid-19 epidemic broke out quickly and strongly, at times spreading throughout the province, deeply affecting the psychology, health, life and livelihood of the people, economic and social activities were suspended and disrupted, including teaching and learning activities of the education and training sector.
In that context, the sector has made great efforts to overcome difficulties and completed the 2020-2021 school year with many remarkable results; actively and proactively implementing many solutions to maintain learning for students in the first semester of the 2021-2022 school year.

The quality of comprehensive education has been gradually improved; the quality of universal education; the work of encouraging learning, encouraging talents, and building a learning society has been given attention. Key education continues to maintain its top position nationwide in terms of achievements of excellent students at national, regional, and international levels and in competitions and contests with 81 students winning national prizes and 5 international and regional medals.
The Ministry of Education and Training assessed that the Nghe An Education sector is the highlight of the entire sector in the 2020-2021 school year in supporting and promoting the building of an educational environment and improving the quality of comprehensive education and education in mountainous areas. Nghe An also ranked first in the country with 26/33 high school teachers nationwide promoted to grade I in professional title. With the achieved results, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training was awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Ministry of Education and Training for the 2020-2021 school year.
The achievements of the education sector in recent times have contributed significantly to the overall socio-economic development of the province, and are one of the sectors with outstanding contributions to the province.

On this occasion, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy respectfully acknowledged and commended the efforts, endeavors, and important contributions of the entire education sector; the hard work, dedication, and intelligence of all cadres and teachers of the province in the past time.
The 2021-2022 school year takes place in the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic; the strategy for safe, flexible adaptation and effective control of the Covid-19 pandemic still faces many challenges, and some levels of education in some localities in the province have not been able to organize in-person teaching, putting a lot of pressure on the education sector.
In that context, the head of the Provincial Party Committee requested the sector to continue to pay attention to implementing the goals and viewpoints of ensuring safe schools in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic (safe students, safe teachers, safe school environment); to effectively implement Covid-19 vaccination for students; to continue to flexibly organize teaching and learning according to each level of the epidemic and in accordance with the reality of each locality.
The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that in the difficult context, it is necessary to find ways for schools, teachers, parents and students to adapt to teaching and learning in new conditions with the motto of adaptive learning and responsible teaching. Along with the attention of the Party Committee and the government, it is necessary to actively mobilize socialization to ensure infrastructure, equipment, means and tools to meet the new teaching methods and online learning. The Provincial Party Secretary requested the staff and teachers to continue to uphold the spirit of solidarity, responsibility and dedication to the cause of educating people, for the common development of society.

Next, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and other members of the provincial working delegation visited and congratulated the Provincial Association of Former Teachers.
This is an association established in 2007. After 14 years of establishment, the Association has increasingly affirmed its position, gathering the majority of retired teachers in the province into the Association with over 20,000 members, operating in 23 branches.
Through many practical activities, the Association has become a "common home" taking care of the material and spiritual life of former teachers; effectively participating in building a learning society, encouraging learning and talent; contributing to continuing to foster the tradition of studiousness, respect for teachers and esteem for education of the land and people of Nghe An.
