Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary hopes that intellectuals, scientists, and artists will contribute more to the province's development.

On the afternoon of June 26, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held a meeting to collect opinions from intellectuals, scientists, and artists on the draft Political Report of the 19th Provincial Party Executive Committee to be submitted to the 20th Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.

Reporting on the process of drafting the Political Report, Comrade Pham Trong Hoang - Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Standing member of the Congress Document Subcommittee, stated that the draft Political Report had been implemented in 3 steps. After many discussions and comments, the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee agreed on the draft to collect comments from various channels and organize discussions at lower-level Party Congresses.

On development perspective: Emphasizes the factors of innovation, creating development breakthroughs; improving the quality and efficiency of development; economic development associated with cultural and social development, improving people's lives; environmental protection, proactive adaptation to climate change; proactiveness in international integration and firmly ensuring national defense and security.

Regarding development goals: According to the direction of General Secretary To Lam at the working session with the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on May 15, 2025, we must set a higher goal than the goal Uncle Ho instructed when he visited his homeland, which is to make Nghe An a national growth pole.

Regarding viewpoints and development orientations in the coming term, delegates proposed to supplement the science and technology content in Nghe An province's economy, build industrial and agricultural products of the province; supplement viewpoints, solutions and specific policy mechanisms for cultural development in general and literature and art in particular; have policies to promote the potential and advantages of the Western Nghe An region.

The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that in the current period, Nghe An is focusing on implementing key and important tasks. The province is focusing on completing the highest level of goals and targets for the 2020-2025 term, especially the 2025 growth target of 10.5%.

Nghe An is joining the whole country in carrying out the revolution of streamlining the organizational apparatus, arranging commune-level administrative units, building a 2-level local government model with the spirit of "running and lining up at the same time"; focusing on preparing to organize Party Congresses at all levels, the 20th Provincial Party Congress, towards the 14th National Party Congress; resolutely implementing the 4 key Resolutions of the Politburo to develop the country, entering a new era.

In recent times, Nghe An has received attention from the Central Government through the issuance of Resolution No. 39, along with specific mechanisms and policies. At the working session with the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on May 15, General Secretary To Lam directed the province with 6 major orientations, setting the goal that Nghe An must strive to become a model of modern local development, a national growth pole.

Based on the Resolutions of the Politburo and the direction of the General Secretary, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee is directing the implementation and concretization into the Political Report. Based on the local situation, the province orients the development of the Eastern region, including Vinh urban area and the expanded Southeast Economic Zone, to become the driving force for the province's development. Meanwhile, the Western region is oriented towards sustainable development, ensuring security and social welfare.

The Provincial Party Secretary hopes that intellectuals and scientists at training and research institutions need to cooperate with state agencies and award-winning enterprises to train high-quality labor resources and develop a number of basic industries such as processing, manufacturing, energy, etc.

In the context that the province is preparing to switch to a two-level government model, with a large area, leadership, direction and administration must be effective so that 130 communes and wards can actively participate in creating development space, bringing the government closer to the people, serving the people's needs better.
