Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh visits the Laos - Vietnam Border Youth Friendship Village
(Baonghean.vn) - During the visit and working program in Bolikhamxay province, Laos, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation visited the Laos - Vietnam Border Youth Friendship Village in Kham Kot district on the morning of August 3.

The Laos-Vietnam Border Youth Friendship Village was started in August 2012 in Kham Kot district, Bolikhamxay province, Laos on a scale of 1,034 hectares with the aim of attracting and receiving young households in the Lao border area to settle down, act as the core in socio-economic development, and protect national security and defense; build a demonstration area and transfer technical advances in agricultural and forestry production to Lao youth with two main components.
Accompanying the delegation were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Huu Lam - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; Cao Thi Hien - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council. Leaders of the Departments: Provincial Transport, Provincial Education and Training; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee Office, Provincial Police, Provincial Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command, Department of Foreign Affairs, Provincial Youth Union; representatives of the Bolikhamxay provincial leadership. |
The first component is to invest in building a village center and a demonstration area for agricultural and forestry techniques using non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese Government to the Lao Government and capital from the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group to invest in building housing for young people.
The second component is implemented with capital from the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group to invest in agricultural and forestry production, focusing on rubber planting and processing to create jobs for youth and people in the project area.
On October 18, 2014, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union coordinated with the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union to organize the inauguration and handover ceremony of the project's Central Area. On March 9, 2017, the two sides coordinated to organize the closing ceremony and handover of this very meaningful project.

Reporting to Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh and the Nghe An province delegation, the leaders of the Laos-Vietnam Border Youth Friendship Village said that there are currently 10 young households living in the village and will continue to expand to 50 households; at the same time, within the scope of the project, about 500 hectares of rubber have been planted.
Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh directly visited and discussed the lives and livelihoods of young families who are starting their own businesses in the village.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Secretary presented a souvenir to the Laos - Vietnam Border Youth Friendship Village, wishing the village to continue to develop and achieve its set goals, thereby disseminating knowledge, replicating economic models, creating jobs for youth and people in the project area so that their lives can be increasingly improved; thereby contributing to fostering the special and loyal friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
Previously, on the evening of August 2, Bolikhamxay province held a wrist-tying ceremony for the entire high-ranking delegation of Nghe An province. This is a long-standing custom imbued with Lao culture to pray for blessings and luck for the recipients and to further strengthen the relationship between the two sides.
The ceremony was attended by Comrade Vi Lay Vong - But Da Kham - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Planning - Finance and Audit Committee of the Lao National Assembly; President of the Central Committee of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association.

The visit to the Laos-Vietnam Border Youth Friendship Village also successfully concluded the working visit of the high-ranking delegation of Nghe An province to Bolikhamxay province, Laos from August 1-3.
