At the beginning of the meeting, comrade Le Tien Chau informed some features of Hau Giang province. This is a province located in the center of the Mekong Delta, bordering 5 provinces in the Southwest region of Vietnam, with a natural area of ​​1,600 km2; of which the agricultural production area is 140,000 ha; population of nearly 750,000 people.

Over the past 16 years of establishment, Hau Giang province has developed comprehensively in all fields, notably the average economic growth rate of 6.3% in the past 5 years. The economic structure has shifted in the right direction.,increase the proportion of industry and services, gradually reduce the proportion of agriculture.

Hau Giang has 32/51 communes and 3 district-level units meeting new rural standards; average income per capita in rural areas by 2020 will reach over 41 million VND.

The province currently has more than 4,000 enterprises, with an estimated industrial production value of about 30,000 billion VND. The province's total import-export turnover this year is estimated to reach more than 1 billion USD, a 6-fold increase compared to 10 years ago; the poverty rate is only 3.1%.

At the meeting, the delegation of Hau Giang province heard information on the socio-economic situation, investment attraction in 2020 and the period 2015 - 2020, and future orientation of Nghe An province.

Leaders of the two provinces and departments attending the meeting exchanged some experiences in attracting investment, especially in site clearance; solutions for construction and development of industrial park infrastructure; planning for socio-economic development, national defense and security; activities of the Nghe An Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center; innovative start-ups, business development; support and encouragement for individual business households to establish businesses;...

In addition, the two provinces also exchanged and learned about human resource development; administrative reform, especially improving the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), applying information technology in administrative procedure reform; mechanisms and policies to mobilize and promote resources, especially non-state budget resources effectively to serve socio-economic development; good practices in poverty reduction;...

Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy directly informed many contents about the province's methods and solutions for the above fields; at the same time, discussed and shared some orientations of the province in the coming time.

In particular, regarding investment attraction, Nghe An is actively implementing many solutions to become an attractive and highly competitive destination for domestic and foreign investors, including persistently attracting strategic investors. Nghe An's investment attraction perspective is to harmonize the interests of people and businesses in investment, while protecting the environment.

The Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee hopes that after this meeting, the cooperative and sharing relationship between the two provinces will have a new step forward, becoming more and more closely connected. The two provinces will regularly exchange and learn from each other's experiences for mutual development.

Hau Giang Provincial Party Secretary Le Tien Chau shared that, despite being a locality with the largest area in the country, a large population and facing the impact of epidemics and natural disasters since the beginning of the year, Nghe An has achieved remarkable results, contributing to the overall development of the country.

Congratulating Nghe An on the socio-economic development achievements; the success of the 19th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, creating momentum for a new development period, the head of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee expressed that through the exchange of experiences, Hau Giang has acquired many useful contents on working methods, approaches, and work efficiency in many fields of Nghe An.

Sharing some experiences on policies to support tourism and business development, improving the competitiveness index of departments, branches, and district-level localities, and applying information technology in administrative reform that Hau Giang is implementing, the Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee hopes that through this meeting, the cooperative relationship and experience exchange between the two provinces will become increasingly closer to gain more experience in effectively carrying out the political tasks of each province.

At the meeting, sharing the difficulties of people in the Central provinces, including Nghe An province, Hau Giang Provincial Party Secretary Le Tien Chau presented 500 million VND in support to help Nghe An province overcome the consequences of the recent natural disaster. This is the heart and sentiment of Hau Giang people towards the people of the Central region.
