Provincial Party Secretary received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India on a working visit to Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 20, during the working visit to Nghe An, the delegation of the Indian Embassy led by Mr. Pranay Verma - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam paid a courtesy visit to the provincial leaders.
Attending the meeting was a working delegation from Voice of Vietnam Radio Station led by comrade Nguyen The Ky - Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director.
Receiving and working with the delegation, on the side of Nghe An province, there was comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. Also attending were comrades of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Director of Nghe An Radio and Television Station and representatives of leaders of a number of departments and branches.
OPEN UP MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR BOTH SIDES
Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Pranay Verma and his wife, the delegation and leaders of Voice of Vietnam to visit and work with the province, and at the same time informed the delegation about some main features of the province's natural conditions, socio-economic situation, and the relationship and cooperation between the province and Indian partners.

Nghe An is the province with the largest area and the 4th largest population in the country. In particular, the province is proud to be the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh - a close friend of the Indian people. The province currently has the 10th largest economy in the country. In 2019, the total product in the province (GRDP) reached nearly 4 billion USD. Total export turnover was nearly 1.2 billion USD, total import turnover was more than 781 million USD.
In 2019, Nghe An's export turnover to India was nearly 24.3 million USD, mainly on the following items: white stone powder, wood and wood products, cassava starch, rice, textiles. Import-export turnover from India reached 51.4 million USD, mainly on the following items: steel, machinery, equipment. In the first 6 months of 2020, the export turnover to India reached10.2 million USD, imports reached nearly 57 million USD.
The Provincial Party Secretary said that Nghe An has convenient traffic connections, along with many conditions to attract investment, especially foreign direct investment (FDI), tourism development...
In the province, there is the Southeast Economic Zone with an area of over 20,000 hectares, and outside the Economic Zone, there are 6 other industrial parks with systematic and synchronous infrastructure investment.
Currently, Nghe An has 91 valid FDI projects with a total registered capital of more than 1 billion USD; including 5 FDI projects of Indian enterprises with a total capital of nearly 73 million USD, mainly in the field of processing stone and wood.

Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador and the Indian Embassy for agreeing to sponsor 50,000 USD.in the Rapid Effectiveness Project Fund funding packageto build 6 classrooms for Ma Thanh Commune Kindergarten, Yen Thanh District; and at the same time, hope that in the coming time, the Project Fund will continue to support other projects in Nghe An province.
The head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee proposed that the Ambassador and the Indian Embassy help connect with Indian businesses to learn about and invest in Nghe An, especially in the field of information technology, which is India's strength, and high-tech products for domestic use and export. "In addition to the preferential policies of the Government, Nghe An has special preferential policies for investors," said comrade Thai Thanh Quy.
Nghe An also requested the Ambassador to consider and support the project of building a green library in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district - the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh from ODA capital; inform the province about scholarship programs sponsored by the Indian Government for students, officials and civil servants of the province to access...
The Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee expressed his belief that the above cooperation results will create a very good premise for Nghe An's cooperation with Indian states and organizations to become increasingly deeper in all fields, especially economics, culture, education, etc., contributing to fostering the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India.
UNIFYING MANY COOPERATION CONTENTS
Mr. Pranay Verma - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam expressed his pleasure to visit Nghe An - the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh. In the historical process of the two countries, the relationship between the two founding fathers, President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister Nehru, opened the way for the establishment of relations and laid a solid foundation, creating momentum to continuously consolidate and expand the traditional friendship between Vietnam and India, and the two countries have established a comprehensive strategic partnership.
In the process of developing the traditional and good relationship between the two countries, the Ambassador hopes that the provinces and cities of Vietnam and the states of India will also strengthen cooperation. And this visit and work in Nghe An is also part of that cooperation connection effort.

Assessing Nghe An's great potential for cooperation, Mr. Pranay Verma suggested that Nghe An organize investment promotion with Indian investors. He personally will convey the message to investors to encourage them to invest in Nghe An.
In addition, the Ambassador also proposed to strengthen promotion and cooperation to develop tourism, organize the promotion of Indian culture in Nghe An through the organization of the Indian Bollywood Film Festival and sideline activities such as: Indian dance performance, Yoga. Agreeing with the province's proposals, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India also suggested some other cooperation in fields such as building smart cities.

In particular, Mr. Pranay Verma highly appreciated Nghe An's position in connecting through the East-West corridor by road from India - Myanmar - Thailand - Laos and Vietnam to the East Sea. Thereby, he suggested that the province cooperate to form this connection, the Indian side has conducted a feasibility study, and the Ambassador himself is also very interested and actively promoting this content.
Agreeing with the proposals of Mr. Pranay Verma, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy expressed his belief that through today's visit to Nghe An, the issues discussed and agreed upon by both sides will have results and achievements in the coming time so that Nghe An can have a better and more effective cooperative relationship with Indian partners.
