Provincial Party Secretary received leaders of POSCO Group (Korea)

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 17, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee had a meeting with Mr. An Sung Gu - Deputy General Director of POSCO Group (Korea).

Provincial leaders attended the reception of representatives of POSCO Group.

On behalf of POSCO Group, Mr. An Sung Gu briefly announced the group's production scale and investment results in Vietnam over the past years.

POSCO was established in 1986, with an average steel output of 38 million tons/year, ranking 4th in the world. POSCO invested in Vietnam since 1992 with a total capital of more than 2.2 billion USD, mainly investing in the steel industry in Vung Tau, Hai Phong..., in addition to the construction and energy sectors.

With experience in successfully investing in the construction of a number of thermal power plants in Vietnam, the Group is currently completing the survey of a number of locations for investment in the energy sector, including the Quynh Lap II Thermal Power Plant Project.

The Group hopes that Nghe An province and relevant ministries will support in completing the report to submit to the Vietnamese Government, helping POSCO to soon implement the project. If invested, the Group will strictly implement the regulations of Vietnam in general and Nghe An in particular, paying special attention to environmental protection.

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh pledged to create the most favorable conditions for investors to soon implement the project.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh expressed his joy that the group had trusted and invested in a large project in Nghe An and said that the province's consistent policy is to invite investors.

Regarding the problems, he pledged to quickly work with ministries and branches to soon complete the report to the Government so that this key project can be implemented soon.

The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that Nghe An always creates the most favorable investment environment possible for prestigious, quality, and effective foreign investors such as POSCO Group.

Leaders of POSCO Group presented flowers to congratulate comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh on being assigned to hold the position of Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee.
