Being hunted down while going to wish New Year's greetings
Nguyen Quyet Tien and Tran Minh Tien were celebrating Tet at a relative's house in Huong Khe district (Ha Tinh) when they were chased and slashed by dozens of young men with knives.

According to the investigation results, at around 8:00 p.m. on February 12 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), Mr. Quyet Tien was celebrating Tet at Mr. Ha Khoan's house, residing in block 19, Huong Khe town (Ha Tinh), when dozens of young men with knives broke into the house and chased and slashed him.
Quyet Tien ran away but was detained and assaulted. Minh Tien (living in Gia Pho commune), who was standing nearby, tried to intervene and was also slashed in the face by one of the group. The two victims suffered serious injuries to their arms and heads and had to be taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
From the people's report, Huong Khe District Police sent officers to the scene to extract camera footage, take statements from many witnesses to find the perpetrator, and after a few days, they tracked down the suspects.
According to the police, the cause of the incident was due to a conflict between Mr. Quyet Tien and a member of the opposing group while drinking alcohol.
