As reported by Nghe An newspaper.On the morning of January 16th, two children, Nguyen Trong Dat (11 years old, a 5th grade student) and Nguyen Van Vi (11 years old, a 4th grade student at Bai Son Primary School), both residing in Hamlet 11, went to a friend's house in Hamlet 9, Bai Son Commune to play.

While crossing a flooded section of the village road, the two children were swept away along with their bicycle into the Trang stream. Mr. Thai Ba Kham, who was tending his buffaloes about 700 meters away, heard their cries for help and immediately jumped into the stream, swimming out to rescue them.
