Bill Clinton opens up about Hillary Clinton ahead of the US presidential election.
(Baonghean.vn) - Bill and Hillary Clinton almost never talk about their relationship with each other. But in an interview aired on CNN on June 14th, the former US President openly shared about the woman he trusts more than his own life.

Bill Clinton said in an interview with a CNN reporter in Denver: "Whenever I'm in trouble, my wife is the pillar of the family."
He described his wife as someone who helped him through the most difficult periods of his life: "I trusted her with my life, and I have done so many times."
Bill Clinton described how Hillary helped him get through his "depressed and self-doubting" years as he approached his 30s, not only giving him something to lean on but also guiding him through the most challenging times in his career.
Clinton recalled, “I was the youngest former governor in American history in 1980 on election night. I had been defeated by Reagan’s resounding victory. People I had previously appointed to office walked down the street, intimidated by the new regime in Arkansas, and didn’t dare shake my hand. My career prospects were not bright.”
He continued, “And my wife never bated an eyelid. She just said, ‘Come on, everything will be alright. I trust you. You have my trust.’”
Close friends and aides to the Clinton family often tell reporters how close the couple are, despite their largely different schedules.
In May, Hillary Clinton responded when a voter asked where her husband was: "I talk to him on the phone a lot."
Bill and Hillary married in 1975 after meeting at Yale University. Their relationship has been publicly tested numerous times, including during Bill Clinton's impeachment trial and his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
In her first memoir, titled "Living History," Hillary wrote about the Lewinsky affair: "The hardest decisions I ever made in my life were staying married to Bill and running for the New York State Senate."
During Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign, Bill Clinton told voters in Ames, Iowa, that from the beginning of their relationship, he had told Hillary Clinton to leave him alone so she could focus on her own political career.
He said she was "the most talented person I've ever met" and that "it would be a mistake for me to take away Hillary's chance to be the person I think she should be."
Back in 2014, former President Clinton said that their relationship was, in a way, a 52-year pact. He stated, “We’ve been married for a long time, and she’s always been supportive of my political career. I told Hillary when she was elected to the New York State Senate that she’d given me 26 years, and so I intended to give her 26 years. Whatever Hillary wants to do, it’s fine with me. If she wants my opinion, I’ll tell her, but she has the right to make whatever decisions she wants, and let me know what I can do about it.”
To date, Bill Clinton has not played any role in his wife's presidential campaign. Although the former Commander-in-Chief was present with Hillary Clinton during her first campaign speech on June 13th, he has not traveled around or solicited donations for her, something he did frequently in 2008. Instead, Bill Clinton has focused on his $2 billion Clinton Foundation charity.
Bill Clinton said of his 40-year marriage: “We’ve built our lives together on things we care about, things we love. We’ve been blessed with a beautiful daughter. We’re very fortunate.”
