BKAV launches software to prevent attacks and information theft

Anti Leak technology was launched by BKAV after the attack on the aviation network system and many cases of computers being controlled and personal information being stolen.

According to Bkav's assessment, to spread, hackers send emails with attached text files such asWord, Excel, PDF, PowerPoint...contains spyware viruses. Because of the attractive content and the text file is considered safe, most recipients open the attachment without carefully examining it. Spyware helps hackers control and operate the victim's computer remotely as well as receive commands to download other viruses to the computer to record keystrokes, take screenshots, and steal data.

Previously, on the afternoon of July 29, the website of Vietnam Airlines was attacked by hackers and information of more than 400,000 members was leaked. According to the Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA), the attack on Vietnam Airlines' system was a targeted attack. There are signs that the system may have been hacked since mid-2014. Bkav's analysis results show that the malware used to attack Vietnam Airlines' information system also appeared in many other agencies and businesses.

Meanwhile, some cybersecurity experts also commented that recent security incidents such as hackers controlling Vietnam Airlines' information system or Vietcombank customers losing hundreds of millions of dong due to account information theft showed that anyone can become a victim of targeted attacks. Computer users should proactively protect themselves by being cautious when encountering a strange link, avoiding downloading software of unknown origin, setting two-layer passwords for online accounts and installing security software that supports anti-information disclosure features.

Bkav 2016 also has upgraded technology to prevent ransomware and adware without requiring identification patterns.The package costs 299,000 VND for one year of use. Licensed customers will be automatically upgraded to the new version at no charge starting today (August 17).
