Patient 718 died of malignant plasmacytosis, type 2 diabetes, sepsis and Covid-19
Early afternoon of August 6, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son - Head of the Ministry of Health's special standing unit for Covid-19 prevention and control in Da Nang city informed about the death of a Covid-19 patient.
This is patient number 718, the patient died of multiple myeloma, type 2 diabetes, sepsis and Covid-19.
Patient 718 (BN 718): female, 67 years old, hometown: Cam Le, Da Nang. Medical history: Malignant myelodysplastic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, sepsis.
August 3, 7:00 p.m.: The patient was taken to the emergency room at the Department of Neurology, Da Nang Hospital and isolated according to epidemic prevention and control procedures; 9:00 p.m.: transferred to the Department of Tropical Medicine, Da Nang Hospital for isolation.
On August 4, the patient was awake, and an endotracheal tube was placed and continuous intravenous hemofiltration was performed.

August 5, 6:00 p.m.: purple spots all over the body, irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure; 6:50 p.m.: CPR was ineffective, patient died. When the patient was admitted to the hospital with a suspected diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection on August 3, he was treated in isolation as a Covid-19 case.
The patient's specimen tested at Da Nang Hospital on August 4 tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. The Da Nang Center for Disease Control confirmed the patient's specimen positive for SARS-CoV-2 in the late morning of August 6.
Diagnosis of death: Malignant myelodysplastic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, sepsis and Covid-19.
