US Department of Homeland Security at risk of partial shutdown
The US House of Representatives on February 27 failed to pass a short-term spending bill for the US Department of Homeland Security, just hours before the deadline.
This bill would provide financial support to the US Department of Homeland Security through March 19.

The US Department of Homeland Security faces the risk of a partial shutdown if Congress does not pass a new budget by noon today.
An estimated 15% of the US Department of Homeland Security's workforce, or 30,000 people, will be furloughed; more than 100,000 airport security officers, seaport inspectors, and border patrol officers will be furloughed.
Funding for counterterrorism activities in the states has also been suspended, raising concerns about the ability to ensure national security in the context of terrorism threatening US domestic security./.
