Provincial Military Command: Do not be passive or surprised in any situation

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 20, the Provincial Military Command held a military-political conference to disseminate and implement the resolution of the Provincial Military Party Committee on leading the implementation of military and defense tasks in the last 6 months of 2017.

In the first 6 months of 2017, the political security situation and social order and safety in the province still contained many unpredictable risks, such as: illegal immigration; drug trafficking; trafficking of women; illegal proselytizing... complicated developments at the border.

Domestically, reactionary organizations colluded and disguised themselves as Catholics to step up sabotage activities; took advantage of sensitive issues and shortcomings in state management to incite and entice some Catholics to cause instability in national security and social order and safety.

Priest Dang Huu Nam, Nguyen Dinh Thuc and a number of extremist Catholic dignitaries used churches as places to preach propaganda, attack the regime, speak ill of the Party and State, distort history; defame leaders at all levels, slander the government; take advantage of faith to incite parishioners to march to government headquarters at all levels to demand demands, block National Highway 1A to put pressure on the government; collude, harbor, and cover up reactionary elements "Viet Tan", "Viet Labor"... to increase their sabotage activities.

Despite the negative impact of the international and domestic situation, in the first 6 months of 2017, our province still maintained stability, the economy continued to grow, reaching 6.9%; budget revenue met the target; social security policies were ensured; ANCT - TTATXAH was basically stable... To achieve that result, in addition to leadership and direction, the close coordination of departments, branches, and organizations, including the significant contribution of the provincial armed forces. Especially in the work of grasping and forecasting the situation, proactively advising promptly and specifically on handling plans of officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command.

At the conference, delegates discussed and evaluated the results achieved, limitations and causes in the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of 2017. From there, there were many specific proposals in the implementation of tasks in the last 6 months of the year, especially in the work of building a comprehensive training ground and a provincial command post for provincial-level KVPT exercises; military and defense tasks of the province; field trips to do mass mobilization in specific areas; mobilizing cadres, soldiers, militia and self-defense forces to help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters, search and rescue; handling issues related to reactionary and extremist organizations and elements in religion...

Speaking at the conference, comrade Tran Tien Dung acknowledged and highly appreciated the implementation of the tasks as well as the results achieved. He assessed Nghe An as the province that achieved the most positive results in the military - defense tasks of the entire military region. Especially in the preparation for training KVPT; military recruitment; defense education for subjects; plans to build defense positions...

However, he also frankly pointed out the limitations, such as: some grassroots units have not done a good job of grasping and forecasting the situation, so the detection and advice on handling problems arising at the grassroots level are not good; education and training work in some places has not been very effective; disciplinary action is still slow; the construction of regular forces is not even...

He suggested that in the last 6 months of the year, the Provincial Military Command should strengthen leadership and direction of units to coordinate, grasp the situation, and promptly advise Party committees and authorities at all levels; focus on building increasingly disciplined and elite forces, including militia and self-defense forces, to be ready to resolve all arising issues at the grassroots level; and ensure absolute safety for defense area drills.

On the part of the provincial leaders, Comrade Cao Thi Hien requested the Provincial Military Command to focus on performing well 6 important tasks to ensure national defense and security in the area. In which, emphasizing tasks such as: Continuing to coordinate with the Border Guard and Provincial Police forces to grasp the local situation, promptly advise on solving problems arising from the grassroots, especially in sea areas, islands, and special areas; urgently completing the preparation work, advising the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee to organize the provincial-level KVPT exercise to achieve the best results, safety in all aspects; well preparing forces and means to be ready to participate in natural disaster prevention, search and rescue; promptly resolving military and military rear policies and regimes...

Concluding the conference, Colonel Tran Van Hung, Commander of the Provincial Military Command emphasized: "Promoting the achieved results, in the last 6 months of 2017, the Provincial Military Command will continue to strive to successfully complete military and defense tasks.
