Politburo: Have social insurance and health insurance policies suitable for veterans
On behalf of the Politburo, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu has just signed and issued Conclusion No. 196 on strengthening the Party's leadership over veterans' work in the new situation.
The Politburo's conclusion said that after more than 20 years of implementing the Party's resolutions and conclusions on strengthening leadership over Vietnam's veterans' work in the new period, the veterans' movement continued to develop strongly and achieved many practical results.
Veterans Associations at all levels actively organize and carry out patriotic emulation movements, contributing to the successful implementation of the task of building and defending the Fatherland, which has been recognized and highly appreciated by Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the people.
However, the conclusion also clearly stated that the awareness and responsibility of some Party committees, Party organizations, and authorities are sometimes and in some places limited. Some members of the Veterans Association lack self-cultivation and training, have degraded in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, "self-evolution", "self-transformation", have negative manifestations and violate the law...
Prevent negative thoughts and expressions among veteran members and former soldiers
The Politburo requested to raise awareness and responsibility of Party committees, Party organizations, the political system and the people in the work of gathering, uniting, and promoting the role of the Vietnam Veterans Association in the new situation; building and developing a core force of members and prestigious people to promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations, and orient the thinking of veterans, former soldiers and the people.
The Politburo noted that it is necessary to prevent and suppress negative thoughts and manifestations among veteran members and former soldiers; and the exploitation of veteran images for bad purposes. In addition, it is necessary to create conditions for veteran members and former soldiers to detect, coordinate to prevent and handle plots and acts of sabotage, and to divide the relationship between the Party, the State, the Army and the people.
Leaders of Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front periodically and annually or unexpectedly work with the Veterans Association to listen to thoughts and aspirations, promptly resolve difficulties and problems; promote the role, potential, and strengths of the Veterans Association, especially promoting intelligence and courage in social supervision and criticism activities; contribute ideas to building a clean and strong Party and government; prevent and combat corruption, waste, and negativity.
The Politburo requested to expand the admission target and develop Veterans Association members from qualified veterans and reserve officers...
"Building a team of association officials at all levels that ensures quality, is truly prestigious, dedicated, responsible, and matured through the military environment; focusing on building a team of key officials, with special policies for association officials who are qualified to participate in grassroots Party committees and elected bodies at all levels" - the conclusion of the Politburo clearly stated.
The Politburo also requested appropriate policies and regimes on social insurance and health insurance for veteran members and former soldiers; mobilizing resources to help veteran members and former soldiers in difficult circumstances...
Party committees, Party organizations, and authorities need to encourage, motivate, and create favorable conditions for members of the Veterans Association and former soldiers to participate in implementing socio-economic development programs and plans, especially national target programs; mobilize members to proactively and actively participate in production, business, and services; develop agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and models of farms, cooperatives, cooperatives, and enterprises owned by veterans and former soldiers.
The Politburo also requested to strengthen the role of veterans in educating the young generation about patriotism, revolutionary tradition, national pride, readiness to protect the independence and sovereignty of the Fatherland, and the interests of the nation; create motivation, inspiration, and arouse the will and aspiration in studying, training, working, starting a business, and establishing a career; promote the spirit of dedication and the vanguard role in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense, security, and international integration; protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints...
At the same time, it is necessary to support veteran entrepreneurs and enterprises to carry out digital transformation, transfer science and technology; expand international cooperation, develop markets; form joint ventures, associations, develop tourism, services, investment, production and business.
