(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 29, under the chairmanship of Colonel Dinh Bat Van - Deputy Commander - Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command, the Nghe An Provincial Military Command held an online conference to deploy the work of preventing, combating and overcoming the circulation of storm No. 4 with 21 connecting points in the entire armed forces of the province.

Attending the event were Colonel Pham Van Dong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command; heads of the General Staff, Political, Logistics, Technical departments and commanders of agencies and units at 21 connecting points throughout the provincial military.

Due to the influence of storm No. 4, Nghe An province experienced heavy rain in the midlands and coastal plains; light rain in the highlands caused local flooding in some localities such as Vinh City, Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, Thanh Chuong, Hung Nguyen, Anh Son... and landslides on some national and provincial highways such as National Highway 7A, National Highway 48, National Highway 48E, National Highway 46...

As of 1:30 p.m. on September 29, 1,890 houses were flooded, more than 1,000 hectares of crops, fish ponds... were flooded. In the next 48 hours, prolonged heavy rains could cause flash floods and landslides, endangering people's lives and property. Currently, officers and soldiers of the Military Commands of districts and units in the province are working closely with local leaders to organize search and rescue forces, evacuate people from dangerous areas and help people respond to and overcome the effects of the storm's circulation...

After listening to the report on the response to storm No. 4 at agencies and units, Colonel Dinh Bat Van - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command requested agencies and units to proactively monitor and grasp the situation in localities; promptly deploy forces and means to respond according to the "4 on-site" motto; further promote propaganda work to each person and cadre and employee in the response and overcoming of consequences caused by storm No. 4. The Provincial Military Command organized inspection teams in localities; established working groups to regularly update the situation and promptly report to the Provincial Military Command to quickly deploy and mobilize forces to help people when necessary.

At the same time, agencies and units in the area are required to urgently review cases of families and relatives of officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces who are in especially difficult circumstances... pay attention to any cases at risk of serious damage to property and people... and immediately report to the Provincial Military Command for assistance./.
