The Ministry of Public Security held an online meeting.

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of May 13th, the Ministry of Public Security held an online meeting to summarize the results of the intensified campaign to combat and suppress crime, ensure security and order, and protect the Lunar New Year of Quy Ty 2013. Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security, chaired the meeting. Representatives from various departments and bureaus, as well as police officers from 63 provinces and cities nationwide, participated. At the Nghe An branch, Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, presided.

During the three-month intensive campaign to combat and suppress crime and ensure security and order during the Lunar New Year of Quy Ty 2013, the police forces at all levels advised Party committees and authorities at all levels to direct relevant departments, organizations, and mobilize the people to participate in the implementation. The police forces at all levels played a pivotal role in deploying numerous plans and measures to combat and suppress crime, ensuring security and order, contributing to a peaceful and happy Lunar New Year celebration for the people.

Thanks to the synchronized implementation of plans and solutions, many subversive plots and activities of hostile forces were promptly detected, prevented, neutralized, and thwarted, maintaining security and order and preventing any unexpected incidents. Criminal activity in key areas was curbed, state management of social order was strengthened; illegal fireworks use decreased compared to the previous year; traffic safety and public order were ensured; the number of traffic accidents, fires, and explosions decreased; and security and order at prisons, correctional facilities, and reformatories were basically ensured…

Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau chaired the meeting at the Nghe An Provincial Police headquarters.

The Ministry of Public Security has also instructed police forces in provinces and cities nationwide to continue strengthening intelligence gathering and effectively implementing plans and measures to ensure security and order; to provide good advice to Party committees and governments at all levels on crime prevention and control; to pay special attention to performing basic professional duties well; to strengthen state management of social order; to enhance international cooperation in the fight against crime; and to do a good job of political and ideological education to promote the campaign "Public Security Forces strictly abide by regulations, build a cultured lifestyle for serving the people".

Also this morning, many units and localities that achieved outstanding successes during the peak period of attacking and suppressing crime, ensuring security and order, and protecting the Lunar New Year of Quy Ty 2013 were commended by the Ministry of Public Security.
