The Ministry of Public Security will inspect the assets of the Yen Bai Police Director if there is sufficient evidence.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Luu - Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Public Security said this when answering the press at a press conference held this morning (June 28).

At the press conference to announce the situation and results of police work in the first 6 months of 2017, organized by the Ministry of Public Security, a representative of the Ministry of Public Security informed about the issue that the press asked questions about, related to the "huge" villa area said to belong to the Director of Yen Bai Provincial Police.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Luu - Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Public Security said that the Ministry has only received the above information through the press. The Ministry will proceed to grasp the situation, based on the inspection law and the Government's regulations on asset declaration and transparency, if there is enough basis, it will conduct an inspection and clarification. When the inspection conclusion is available, the Ministry will have official information to the press agencies.

Regarding the assets of the family of another official in Yen Bai, Mr. Pham Sy Quy, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (younger brother of the Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee), on June 27, the Anti-Corruption Department (Government Inspectorate) announced a decision to conduct a surprise inspection.

Also yesterday, regarding the appointment of Mr. Pham Sy Quy, Deputy Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Home Affairs Nguyen Manh Khuong said that the process of checking the records showed that, during the appointment preparation stage, Mr. Quy was sent by the competent authority to attend a state management course for a senior specialist program.

During the appointment period, Mr. Quy did not have a certificate, but in November 2016, he was granted a certificate of state management of the main specialist program by the competent authority.

“Thus, this comrade has met the conditions and standards. In short, the violation here is the lack of a certificate of state management of the main specialist program. During the inspection and examination process, it was pointed out that by November 2016, this comrade had corrected it,” said Mr. Khuong./.
