According to the investigation agency, on the night of March 30, Phan Thi Cam Hang (18 years old, living in Tan Binh district) led about 20 young men and teenagers to break into the milk tea shop of Nguyen Thi Ngoc Truc's family (16 years old) located at the beginning of alley 133 Ni Su Huynh Lien (Ward 10, Tan Binh district). Three young men in the group held Truc down while Hang stabbed and beat her with a knife.

The remaining members of the group attacked the people in the restaurant. Truc's sister and friend tried to stop them but were also beaten and injured by the group.

The incident left Truc with a nearly severed right ear, severe damage to her right eye, three cuts on her right leg, and dozens of stitches in her eye and the back of her head. Truc's sister and friend were also injured and had to receive many stitches.

According to the initial investigation results, about 4 months ago, Mai Dinh Long (17 years old, living in Binh Tan district) was detained by Binh Tan district police for robbery. At that time, Long asked a friend living nearby named Nguyen Hoang Tuan (aka Nam Heo, 18 years old) to bring his scooter back to his family. However, Tuan did not comply and secretly took the scooter for his own use.

In court, Long was given a suspended sentence. The 17-year-old youth went to find Tuan to get his motorbike back. Seeing that the motorbike was broken, Long had it repaired for 1.2 million VND. He asked his driver to pay 700,000 VND for vehicle wear and tear. Long asked a friend named Phung (17 years old, living in Tan Binh district) to help him get the money but to no avail.

On the evening of March 30, Long and Phung went out and saw Tuan standing in front of the house of Phan Phi Hung's girlfriend (16 years old) on Lac Long Quan Street (Ward 10, Tan Binh District). Seeing someone who owed him money, Long pulled over to the side of the road to demand money.

Because Tuan did not have money to pay, Phung's group slapped him in the face 3 times. Seeing his friend being beaten, Hung drove his boyfriend away while Long's group chased after him. When he spotted his grandmother and aunt, Hung stopped the car and asked them for help. Seeing the other side's relatives, Long's group left.

While at work, Phan Thi Cam Hang (18 years old, living in Tan Binh district) heard that Hung (Hang's younger brother) was beaten, so she left work and went to find Long to talk. After that, Hang's family and Long went to Phung's house to reconcile.

At this time, Truc (Phung's girlfriend) insulted Hang's aunt, so Hang reminded her and slapped the 16-year-old girl in the face. After that, Truc's group of about 10 people went to Hang's grandmother's house to cause trouble.

Angry because her grandmother was insulted, Hang invited her friends to Truc's milk tea shop to talk about it. The two sides continued to argue and fight. Many customers in the shop ran away in panic.
