After 12 years of being disciplined and transferred out of the Traffic Police Department due to negative involvement, Mr. Vo Dinh Thuong was assigned as Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Dong Nai.

On October 21, Major General Luong Tam Quang - Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security - said that he had asked Dong Nai Police to report on the case of Deputy Head of Traffic Police Department Vo Dinh Thuong, who was disciplined and expelled from the Traffic Police force, which has been causing a stir in public opinion in recent days.

According to Mr. Quang, after receiving a report from Dong Nai, the Ministry of Public Security will have official information. However, he said that it is normal for officers to be disciplined and transferred to work in other forces.

"Discipline usually has a time limit. If after the time limit the person tries, corrects mistakes, and strives to complete the task excellently, the organization will recognize it," said Mr. Quang.

According to records, previously, Deputy Head of Dong Nai Traffic Police Department Vo Dinh Thuong - who had just signed an invitation for about 20 drivers using small change through the Bien Hoa bypass BOT station to work - held the position of Head of Dau Giay Traffic Control Station (now renamed Suoi Tre).

In 2003, after the press exposed the negative and corrupt practices at Dau Giay traffic control station, Dong Nai police disciplined and dismissed Mr. Thuong and transferred him to work at the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (PC64). Ten other officers were also disciplined from reprimand to warning.

Two years later, Mr. Thuong was promoted from an officer of the Administrative Management Department to the position of Captain of Police 113. In 2010, he was transferred to the position of Deputy Chief of the Environmental Police Department. In 2015, this lieutenant colonel was appointed to the position of Deputy Chief of the Traffic Police Department.

Responding to the press, Mr. Thuong affirmed that he was only disciplined, not fired from the industry.

After being transferred to PC64 Department, he tried to complete his tasks well and was recognized by the leaders and had his disciplinary action removed. His appointment or assignment of tasks all went through his own efforts./.
