Ministry of Industry and Trade informs about the position of General Director of Sabeco

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just released official information on the reorganization of the position of General Director of Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation (Sabeco).

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has received information reflected on a number of mass media regarding the reorganization of the position of General Director of Sabeco. Regarding this matter, the Ministry would like to inform as follows:

Regarding the temporary assignment of the duties of General Director of Sabeco

Based on the proposal of the State Capital Representative Unit at Sabeco, in August 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requested the State Capital Representative Unit at Sabeco to report to the Party Committee and Board of Directors of Sabeco for consideration and decision in accordance with the provisions of law and Sabeco's Charter on the following content:

Temporarily assign Mr. Le Hong Xanh, State Capital Representative, Member of the Board of Directors, Deputy General Director of Sabeco to perform the duties of General Director of Sabeco and be in charge of the Executive Board of Sabeco until there is a new person to take the position of General Director of Sabeco.

Review human resources to report to the Ministry of Industry and Trade on human resources plans before implementing the process of completing the position of Sabeco General Director in accordance with the provisions of law and Sabeco's Charter.

On the completion of the position of General Director of Sabeco

In the past time, the position of General Director and some key leadership positions of Sabeco have not been completed, therefore, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has requested the State Capital Representative Department at Sabeco to report to the Board of Directors of Sabeco to soon have a plan to complete the key leadership positions of Sabeco according to regulations.

In March 2017, the State Capital Representative Department at Sabeco reported to the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the personnel restructuring plan, in which the person holding the position of General Director was proposed to be appointed from local sources, in Sabeco's planning.

After reviewing the proposal of the State Capital Representative Department at Sabeco, the Ministry of Industry and Trade agreed on the policy of appointing the position of General Director of Sabeco from local human resources, in Sabeco's planning, so that the State Capital Representative Department at Sabeco can report to the Board of Directors of Sabeco.

In order to complete the personnel work at Sabeco, the State Capital Representative Department at Sabeco has coordinated with Sabeco's Board of Directors to conduct personnel procedures according to regulations and has sent a document to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to consider and approve the appointment of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, State Capital Representative, Member of the Board of Directors, Deputy General Director of Sabeco to hold the position of General Director of Sabeco.

Based on the proposal of the State Representative Unit at Sabeco, considering the qualifications, capacity and working process of the staff, in order to soon complete the position of General Director of Sabeco, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has reviewed and agreed with the proposal of the State Capital Representative Unit at Sabeco on the appointment of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, State Capital Representative, Member of the Board of Directors, Deputy General Director of Sabeco to hold the position of General Director of Sabeco, and at the same time requested the State Capital Representative Unit at Sabeco to consult with the Board of Directors of Sabeco to continue to immediately implement the procedures in accordance with the law and Sabeco's Charter.

According to the report of the State Capital Representative Department at Sabeco, the State Capital Management Department at Sabeco has consulted with the Board of Directors of Sabeco and taken steps to soon complete the leadership positions of Sabeco.

After the position of General Director of Sabeco is completed, Mr. Le Hong Xanh will stop performing the duties of General Director, stop being in charge of Sabeco's Executive Board and continue to assume the position of State Capital Representative, Member of the Board of Directors, Deputy General Director of Sabeco until retirement (The Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced and decided to retire Mr. Le Hong Xanh from July 1, 2017 according to regulations).
